Thank you for taking the time to learn more about our passion that we call In Flight Retrievers. We are a small kennel located in Southwest Michigan.

It is our passion to raise and train a Labrador Retriever that is suited for family fun, weekend hunter, or serious competitive hunter. Training a dog that can work all day in the field or water and come home and play with the kids or curl up in front of the fireplace. Our dogs are talented hunters and hold game with solid steady points. They compete in the APLA, AKC and UKC. They also hunt a variety of game including chukar, pheasant, wood c**k, grouse, ducks and geese.

Someone messaged us for more information about pointing labs. I haven't quite gotten around to replying, but I've been thinking about it. Why do we choose pointing labs? Because we can go waterfowl hunting with them in the morning and upland hunting with them in the afternoon and snuggle on the couch or go swimming with them in the evening. They truly are just so versatile. Pics of my boy Trigger for example 😍

I wasn't there, but my favorite girl GMPR Pasman's May the Force be With You and 4XGMPR-TC HRCH Streich's Toby had a hunting date with their owners and trainer Ryan Pasman. Aren't they just beautiful?!

I was able to get some videos yesterday. Here's a couple young dogs - Bear, out of RiversWild Retrievers Touch 'em TeZZa and Waterman's Creek Tyrannothorus Rex (I think), and Roo, out of Fritz's Bad Motor Scooter and Frogvilles Black Ice Kodiak. Looking good!

Ryan Pasman and I spent some time duck hunting this weekend with some guys, including our buddy Andy who is spoiling our Cruise ( https://www.huntinglabpedigree.com/studdog.asp?id=158042 ) while his pup is in training. It was a fascinating experience for me, and my first time hunting from a layout blind. The amount of work to set the stage for the production is huge, and I watched in awe as these guys arranged everything in the field. It really reminded me of preparations for a musical. I have never seen so many ducks during a hunt before, and it was so cool (we got a little damp yesterday 😆).

Miss Bella went hunting with us this morning after returning from retrieving hundreds of birds at Palisade Flats Hunt Club for their season. We had a nice little hunt and got a black duck in the mix. Thanks Andy Oleson for the invite!

Honey and the Honey/Toby pups are receiving excellent care at Black Partridge Kennels. Sue sent us puppy pictures today, and they are now 4 weeks old! Aren't they sweet?!

Here's a pupdate for you all -

The breeding didn't take for Bella, but she's having the time of her life picking up birds for the season at Palisade Flats Hunt Club.

Honey became a first time mama yesterday to four males and three females. Big thanks to Dave and Sue at Black Partridge Kennels for caring for her and the pups during the birth and after.

I'll post ribbon pictures soon from the Michigan American Pointing Labrador Association hunt test this past weekend.

My dogs ran events under two great trainers this weekend. Dale Swiderski of Hunter's Rose Kennel kept me and all of his clients updated on each dog's run (they were running a HRC test). Ryan Pasman, my husband, didn't say a word to me (APLA test) until each day was over (luckily I had Catherine Burch keeping me up to speed). I'm just posting this to say that every trainer is different, but these guys get the job done one way or another. Ribbon pics coming soon.

The American Pointing Labrador Association Triple Crown Invitational concluded today. Big congratulations to Dustin Streich and family on a TC title for Streich's Toby. Introducing 4XGMPR TC HR Streich's Toby. Our Honey will be whelping Toby's first litter of pups towards the end of the month.

Ryan qualified nine dogs for the 2024 American Pointing Labrador Association Triple Crown Invitational. We brought three dogs with us to South Dakota. Unfortunately Lily went out yesterday, and Cruise went out today. Toby has made it through the land/water and upland yesterday and land and upland today. Tomorrow will be a big day!
