Saddle up and join us at our "What is the Judge Looking For" Ranch Horse Clinic on Saturday, July 20th with Jodie Fuchs! Jodie, a popular DSRP Ranch Horse Judge, is an international clinician and former Australian AQHA judge who was on the ground floor of the AQHA Versatility & Heritage Programs! This clinic will cover a variety of elements in a Trail Class with time to practice the various obstacles as well as what quality movement looks like in all the gaits specific to Ranch Horse shows for classes like Ranch Pleasure & Ranch Riding. This clinic will be a positive and encouraging atmosphere for riders & horses wanting to learn more about the Ranch Horse discipline.

Yesterday we had 12 horses get their teeth floated which ofcourse allowed for a great teaching moment! Some of our bigger kids helped out while the rest of us discussed in length the importance of having your horses teeth floated, signs for your horse needing their teeth done, how often it should be done and the right people to handle such a job.

Thank you Klint Kahn from Krazy8 Equine Dentistry for always taking such good care of our horses teeth and for allowing us to watch and learn!

This weekend Ian, Dawsyn, Avery and Cade competed at The Haras Spring Flowers GHHJA show. Although we did not have many ribbons we had so many personal accomplishments.

Ian working with his horse from the last show where his horse was uncertain to every fence, to this show where they soared over with confidence.

Dawsyn who even though her horse was spooking at all the spectators kept pushing through improving with every class.

Avery who cantered all of her courses for her first time without any accidental transitions.

Cade who listened to what his horse was telling him and walked away from two of his jumping courses to keep her safe and happy.

Pride of the horsemanship and sportsmanship all the way around!

We hope you and your loved ones are safe after the tornado that hit Texas yesterday. 💙 We want to let you know that tomorrow's show, The Haras Spring Flowers GHHJA Hunter Jumper Show, is still on. Haras Hacienda is meticulously preparing for the horse show. The electricity has been restored, and our arenas are being readied for the event.

Thank you, Shiner High School for inviting us out to teach two of the Equine Science Classes. In these classes we discused brushing and tacking techniques while having a little fun with races to test what they learned. Oakley and Petey enjoyed meeting many new Comanches! 🟣🟡

Yesterday was our first GHHJA Show, we unfortunately did not get to many pictures but it was a proud day!

Avery and Oakley finished with a 1st over fences, 3rd over fences, 3rd over fences and a 4th in her flat class. This was an exciting moment being her first time in a walk/trot/canter class.

Cade and Maggie finished with a 2nd over fences,2nd over fences,4th over fences,4th over fences and a 5th place in flat. This was very exciting as it was his first time competing at 2’3.

Ian and Captain did not end up placing in any classes due to Captain having quite an off day. Ian stayed calm and showed amazing sportsmanship, horsemanship and understanding for his horse knowing that this was unlike his usual character. This is worth more than any ribbon!
