KEEP YOUR FURRY FAMILY MEMBERS IN MIND THIS SEASON!

Seasonal plants like poinsettias are toxic to cats and dogs. If ingested, they cause vomiting & diarrhea. Opt for artificial plants or simply don’t use these varieties.

Also keep in mind that small ornaments pose a choking hazard.
Anything that could hurt your pet should be kept out of reach or out of the house altogether.

The Sniff test - Stop doing that!
The sniff test - a badly engrained habit that society has been taught, without a clear understanding of what they're actually doing.

🚩When you reach out towards a dog, you are using body pressure AT them, giving them no time to assess whether you are safe & whether they require further investigation to pick up your information. You are forcing an interaction of a relationship that hasn't had time to develop. To some dogs, this is quite rude & the reason a lot of dogs snap at or bite people. This can cause alot of behavioral issues because of layered stress due to forced interactions.

🚩If they are on lead, they have no where to go if they are sensitive to spacial pressure, so can end up shutting down, shying away or snapping at your hand so you back off. This is an example of how a dog is now using pressure to turn off pressure & make you back off so they aren't so stressed.

🚩People think by offering your hand it can give the dog time to sniff to know you're friendly... they can sniff without being forced to sniff your hand.Their noses are far more superior than ours & they don't need close contact forced upon them to smell you.

🚩Some dogs might not want to know you. You have no relationship with them and that's perfectly fine. They aren't your dog so you don't need to touch them or steal pats for your own satisfaction.

🤔 If you are meeting a dog, what should you do?
⚠Ask the owner if you can interact with their dog. Not all people want strangers touching their dogs. Especially strangers who you are unlikely to see again.
⚠Stand up straight & relaxed, with your hands at your side.
⚠Ignore the dog & talk to the owner.
⚠Don't stare at the dog & don't try to force an interaction by going in for a pat. If the dog wants to know you, it will come up to you & sniff around. Usually they will move away & then come back for a second sniffathon. Some dogs will bunt your hands & wag their tails, which are good signs that you're likely an accepted new friend. Give them a few slow pats down their back (NOT THEIR HEAD) & then stop. Is the dog happy? Has it accepted your interaction? This will determine whether you can give it more pats.

🐶This is a more stress free option for dogs & a reason why in consultations we can develop a good level of trust, especially with fearful dogs & aggressive dogs, without a bunch of negative side effects from forced interactions.

After a week off for Labor Day it’s finally time to start the playoffs!!! David is going into tonight with a 3 point advantage after securing the top spot of the regular season. We’re excited to get back on the track at Seekonk Speedway and give it all we got! Come on down for what is sure to be an awesome night.

EVERETT’S TRIPLE CROWN FINALISTS NOW SET FOR AUGUST 9, 10 WEEKEND

SEEKONK, Mass. — All nine Seekonk Speedway divisions have now set the Final Four in the Everett’s Auto Parts Triple Crown Series championship battles. Everett’s Triple Crown weekend will take place on Friday, August 9 and Saturday, August 10 at the Action Track of the East. On that weekend, the Finals of the Triple Crown will take place for all divisions. Every division except the Bandolero classes will have extra laps.

The winner of the Triple Crown championship for 2024 will be the highest finishing driver of the four eligible in that specific feature event.

The Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Bandit Everett’s Triple Crown Final Four includes Luka Dib, David Bernier, Mason Silva and Jase Chaber. Dib and Bernier have both won Triple Crown events already this season to advance to the Finals. In total, these four drivers have been inside the top-five in general in nearly all Bandolero Bandit events in 2024. They have all earned their spots in the Finals. Which one of the four carries the Everett’s Auto Parts Triple Crown Series title after 15 laps on August 9?

LETS GO! Its race day. After last week’s amazing win we cannot wait to make it to the track to cheer on our favorite driver. Come see all the awesome action that Seekonk Speedway has to offer. Plus you may just catch a glimpse of us with our newest addition Whiskey in training to be a service dog.

BERNIER GOES BACK TO VICTORY LANE IN BANDITS

SEEKONK, Mass. — David Bernier was back in Victory Lane on Friday night at Seekonk Speedway. Competing in the Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Bandits, Bernier held off Mason Silva to hold on for another victory in his 2024 season.

New to the winner’s circle in 2024, Bernier is making it clear he’s going to be a threat not only to win races - but contend for the championship.

Silva finished second, adding yet another podium to his consistent season in the No. 31 for Helger’s Racing. Behind them, Ayla Martin celebrated on the podium for the first time in her career, finishing in third. She was followed by Carl Satterlund Jr. in fourth and Luka Dib, who unfortunately wasn’t able to compete due to a mechanical failure on the pace laps.

Car we sponsor. Took second tonight at the local track.

PODIUM FINISH! Opening night was everything we hoped it to be! The car felt great through practice and ended up qualifying 2nd! After inverting the field we started off P3, had a great jump at the start and moved to P2. Then a caution hit on lap 10 and put us restarting on the outside. But again, had a great restart and stayed in second. It was an absolute fight for the final laps but we held off the 3rd place driver and finished P2!!! Incredible opening night and already looking forward to next week!
