Happy Thanksgiving from Street Cat to Rocky. We had a talk during his wound care and ear cleaning. He agrees being Sweet has its perks.

We are truly thankful for all of you. A case of food here, a box of litter there. Sometimes a foster or a transport. Often times some help with medical bills. We are thankful for all of it. We are thankful for the social media engagement to help our posts and cats be seen. We are thankful that you believe in this crazy mission of transforming one Street Cat at a time into a Sweet Cat.

Giving Tuesday is already back and it is yet again time to ask for help. Many of you have seen the cats that come through my doors. Some are sick, some are injured. Many need a lot of socializing. I deal with parasites and mites, fleas, and mange. Our greatest need is always funds for vet bills and medical supplies. Food and litter is a close second followed by cleaning supplies and toys. This year we are hoping to raise 2,000 dollars to start the new year. If you feel more comfortable sending food and supplies a wish list will be posted.

Giving Tuesday will be here before you know it. We are hoping to add funds to our medical fund which has been depleted over the last few months. We have had many sick, injured, and broken cats this year. Our goal is $2000 dollars. Every dollar helps the street cats in need.

Street Cat Rocky was one of the lucky ones. Although his spirit is broken and his body covered in bite wounds and scratches, he is one of the lucky ones. Living amongst FELV( feline leukemia) he miraculously avoided catching the deadly virus. If you have been following this page for any amount of time you know that no cat is returned to their colony while they are sick or injured. No exceptions. He had a few bite wounds that needed attention so he earned a 2 to 3 week stay During that time he will be fed, medicated and wounds cleaned. He will be evaluated and put in different situations to see how he responds. The choice to accept touch and love is all up to him. I have big hopes for him but I am also realistic and know he may not like things indoors. Sometimes Street Cats become Sweet Cats is more than just a saying but for me it is a goal. Yesterday was a busy, stressful, and emotional day for sure. The TNR(trap,neuter, return) room and all its traps, and trays were bleached and washed. Mama cat and this big boy tested NEGATIVE for FELV(feline leukemia), so I decided to do what I do. Both cats ver vetted and will stay here as I get them ready for adoption. The babies will see a vet soon for some much needed antibiotics and dewormer. I was a little worried that we were only able to raise four hundred of my seven hundred bill but as usual the world works in unusual ways. There was a previous billing error so it all worked out in the end. Thank you to everyone who was able to help.

Update: A generous donor will match the first $200 donated. We are currently at $380

Hoping for a positive outcome. TNR(trap, neuter,return) is the only humane option for controlling the feral cat population. A gentle reminder to the feeders that feeding and fixing should go together. Many times we hear the story how a colony started with 2 or 3 cats but by the time we are contacted it is well over 20 cats. Feeders need to be part of the solution....not part of the growing problem. If you are able to contribute to today's vet bill it will be greatly appreciated. Today's bull is estimated at 6-7 hundred dollars with 200 of that being a snap test for FELV.

A total of 6 cats were trapped yesterday and this evening. I still have one more to go... This colony has been stressful and emotionally draining for not only myself but the clinic staff as well. If you feed it, fix it is something that almost always falls on deaf ears. This weekend will be the last time I trap until February 2026. End of year improvements, painting, repairs and mentally recharge.

Many times a week I scout out a few "lost pets" pages and am always amazed how many missing cat posts I see. Especially because most have a picture of the cat outdoors. Many cats that want to be outside is just due to lack of stimulation or enrichment. Toys, playtime, and cuddles can help curb the urge to explore.

She is a great cat who can live with a calm dog. She is a little cat selective so proper introductions to another cat will take time. She is about 4 years old and fully vetted.
