Meet Tiki:

Tiki is a 10 year old thoroughbred that was greasy off the track! Oceanna purchased him in September of 2018. She only had him for 7 months and only ride him 5 times due to health issues he was having! He continued to have abscesses and he had navicular with 3 cysts near his navicular bone as well as a rare tumor in his toe! Oceanna sent him back giving him the best retirement life!

While Oceanna had him for the 7 months she seems a change in him! Fresh off the track sometimes means hot, scared, run run run he went from that to calmc happy, and adventurous. She tought him what a round pen wad, how to lunge, how to stop being in her space, how to stop being worried, and how to be the best he could be! 3 months in, she took him to a show! They won 3rd and 1st in walk trot class and in a fun class ribbon class!

Tiki was so much fun! Have fun in retirement dude! ❤️

Meet Little Feather 🪶:

Little feather came to Oceanna needing some help with being brought back to basics. littles was a horse that was high strung, very pushy, nippy, and unhappy! Oceanna took her and her owner on as a client in October. The amount difference her owner and oceanna seen in this horse is so heart warming! oceanna was her last chance and littles is finally reuniting with her owner with the hopes of littles staying at the facility where oceanna trains out of! Great job littles! Keep up the great work!

Meet Skye Tale:

Skye Tale was the very first horse Oceanna ever owned! Hence the name (Skye Tale Training). He was a 5 year old thoroughbred that had came to her very neglected and was measuring at a 2 1/2 on the body fat scale! He didn’t have ground manners, was very pushy, and was really rambunctious when weight was put on!

A month into training he flourished into a beautiful boy and was so sweet with a lot of hard work! He was thought lunging, how to slow down, rely on himself and not her while under saddle, learned that everything was not a race and how to collect!

A year into training she thought him the basics on jumping and within a couple months he was going over 2’6 verticals and a year after that he was going of 3 foot fences with no problems and room to spare!

A year after that he had gotten a abscess and he took a hard fall in the field coming in with a injury that he was never going to come back from! So she sadly put him down at a young age!

Meet The Trainer:

Oceanna Matney is 27 years old, she was first introduced to the horse industry when she was 3 years old. From 3 years old and until 27 she has been riding, working at facilities from stable hand to barn management, but finds higher compassion for helping horses learn better about themselves, and help the owners succeed with their babies!

She has done jumpers and dressage but the younger her loved jumping high and going fast. Now she settles for riding training and doing hunters with her new chestnut gelding Maury.
