They are now 4 weeks old and at a stage where they are starting to walk confidently, eliminate on their own, are beginning to play with their littermates, and are starting to develop their senses. This is also the time when they usually begin teething and their mother will start weaning them onto solid food.

The puppies are two-week-old already! Here are some developmental milestones to be expected in the coming week:

👀 Puppies' eyes usually start to open around the middle of their second week, but some litters may take longer. Their vision will be fuzzy at first, but will improve over time. Their corneas may appear cloudy, and their irises may be blue-gray.
👂 Puppies' external ear canals open around 10–14 days of age.
👃 The pink nose color of some breeds, like golden retrievers and yellow Labradors, will start to darken.
🦵 Puppies can support their weight on their front legs, making it easier for them to find their mother and milk.
🗣️ Puppies will start to make yelps, whines, and barks, as they test out their vocal skills
