How people do not realize this is beyond me.

Every year, about 100,000 dogs die because they ride in the back of trucks. And that’s just the number of dogs that die—even more get badly hurt.
Truck beds don’t protect dogs from the weather. On hot days, the metal floor can get so hot it burns their paws or skin. If a dog is left in the sun without water or shade, it can get heatstroke very quickly.
Even though dogs might look happy with the wind in their faces, dirt, dust, and other stuff in the air can hurt their eyes, ears, and lungs.
Never tie your dog to the truck bed. If the dog falls or jumps out, it could get strangled by the leash. This can happen in an accident or even if the dog just tries to jump out.

Let’s clean out our linen closet’s Oklahoma!

UPDATE: Thank you for the massive response!! We have a large order of oversized, supersoft, plush throws heading to TAS today. And from the looks of things, it seems there will be plenty more towels and blankets delivered thanks to community efforts 🥰

Any flat sheets are also helpful! Please nothing with large holes so puppies won't get stuck...

When Tulsa Animal Services is full, that means the guillotine door in the middle of the kennel is shut to double the space. Since there is only one bed for the entire kennel, that also means half of the puppies and adults are on the cold, hard concrete floor.

Currently, with one washing machine broken, the linen shelves are almost bare. With the temperatures dipping to dangerous levels later this week, the animals need our help more than ever!

If you are able, please drop some new or gently used blankets into the donation area in the front lobby ASAP!! The small, cheap blankets from Walmart are nice, but when the floors get wet from cleaning, they get soaked right away, so large blankets are ideal.

Any monetary donations made between now and tomorrow afternoon will go to us finding the most large, inexpensive blankets we can find to deliver on Tuesday before the bitter cold hits!!

Talk about a dedicated crew, that’s these guys right here. From Avant, Skiatook, Perkins, Glenpool, Broken Arrow and the Tulsa area, we all made it. We are open all day until 6pm. We even have dedicated clients that showed up for their surgeries.
A big thank you to everyone for being so dedicated to animals.
