A Long Time Coming
I began my career working with dogs in college after learning that one of my best friends and workout partner, Bre, made money taking care of dogs. Admittedly, my first thought was that it was just easy money and a good part-time job at best. Boy, was I wrong.
Soon after I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (Go Heels!), I was visiting 10 dogs a day on average, often times working 12-15 hour days. Like a lot of people, I would have described myself as a person that loved dogs. Looking back however, I had little understanding of just how much I loved dogs. I am able to connect with dogs in a way that most people do not or cannot - and I do not say this lightly. People have been telling me this for years, and I am finally comfortable enough to self-identify this character trait (if you will) of mine.
Over the course of multiple years, I have serviced over 500 clients and worked with over 75 different breeds of dogs. I have experience walking and training dogs, ranging from behavioral training to helping dogs cope with severe fear and aggression. I also have experience with overnight care, caring for my client’s dogs and homes while my clients are out of town. I have expanded my experience and services to include dog nail trimming, dog bathing, as well as a pet taxi (for vet visits, dog park playdates, doggy daycare drop-off, etc.).
After the multiple years I spent working for another company, I started my own business, Darbs ‘n Dogs. I run my business from top to bottom along side my wife-to-be, Valerie, my two daughters, and my Frenchie, baby Yogi. I place a high value on professionalism, trust, reliability, responsibility, and kindness. I love dogs through and through, and it is my mission to serve as many pups and families as I can through the services I offer.
