Unfortunately Pepperoni’s body could not fight any longer and she passed away this morning. I thought she was finally going to be out of the woods as she had gained an oz and a half again and was starting to act more like a normal puppy again but she stopped nursing from Lettie this morning and declined rapidly. My sweet baby tried the best she could💜
Welp small update on Pepperoni. Little miss decided yesterday that she still has quite the fight in her. She started nursing on Lettie again and I have not seen her have any distress episodes since Friday morning which is good because she absolutely hates being tube fed. As you can see she is very very stunted and is literally a 3rd of the size of her sister. I’m hoping she has finally gotten to a place where she will finally grow and while I’m still optimistic she still has a very long road ahead of her.
Two week updates were just posted of the 3 babies. I did not take updated pictures of Pepperoni. She is currently still hanging in there but is by no means doing well. She is now strictly in the incubator and being tube fed. Hoping she magically turns a corner in the next couple of days because she is definitely a fighter I’m just not sure if that is going to be enough. Even if she does make it she will likely not be available as she will probably stay with me.

Two week updates are coming soon on the puppies but my smallest female(pepperoni) is currently not doing well so I have been focusing on her. I had noticed she started to not gain as much as her brothers and sister about 4 days ago and she would have periods of what I thought was respiratory distress after eating but still very active, trying to nurse, staying nice and pink, no milk coming from the nose, and staying hydrated. She was always much smaller than her siblings. I had started tube feeding in hopes she was just not getting enough milk from Lettie but her periods of distress have become longer and more frequent. She will have random periods of distress but will then return to normal which is leading me to believe something may be wrong internally. She is very touch and go at the moment but I’m trying everything I know to help her.

These next two weeks are my absolute favorite age of the babies. They start getting personalities and playing and truly turning from newborns to puppies🙌🏻 Also I am currently looking for a guardian home for this girl. Guesssssss what! Little Miss Lettie decided to start her heat cycle this morning🙌🏻 Hopefully we will have some more redheads running around in a couple of months! Progesterone testing will start Friday to give us a breeding date and then be on the look out 30 days from breeding. Once pregnancy is confirmed I will start a waitlist! We’re expecting the same outcome as last litter Red Fawns and Red Fawn Pied😍
We took a little break for a week long vacay in Florida but here we are right back to normal life with Goose and Prim duking it out in the front seat on the way home from work this afternoon. These two are the best of friends💜🙌🏻
