We have a special guest on our blog post whom I am honored to say gave me permission to use his story to show that dogs may not be easy but they are always rewarding. I would argue that the more challenging the dog, the more rewarding it is to be in their life. They can teach us so much and we can bond with them when we find how much we have in common with them. It is my privilege to introduce Joe Bongiorno, a successful Star Wars author and journalist but that's not even the cool part. The cool part is his story of how he made time for his dog, even with how busy he is. If he can have a demanding job AND show patience and understanding with his dog, maybe the rest of us can, too. It's scary to take in a dog who is overprotective because you don't know if they are going to "protect" you from a child or the wrong person or dog. People with anxiety will struggle more with letting them meet people or may not be able to handle the barking. If we understand that we are both anxious and cope differently. (Dogs bark and people avoid. We also have our own version of barking.) So, let me stop and let you read from a successful writer.
