✨💕NEED GOOD HOMES💕✨

We don’t normally do dogs but these pups were local so we decided we’d try & help rehome them.

I have 6 puppies that need homes
They are boxer mixes of some kind
They’re all really sweet, pretty calm for puppies, not destructive
3 months old so eating hard food
They have free choice food down & they don’t go & just eat all of it. They eat when hungry & then leave it
They’re good with all our dogs
They don’t bother the horses either
They’d make great family dogs 🥰💕

This cutie came from the Mize auction last weekend. 17 yr old OTTB mare ❤️ ! We love our off the track babies & she’s no exception ! Super sweet girl, really gentle & calm. She’s going to be a pretty quick in & out, just needs some weight & some chiropractic work. Keep your eyes out for this girl ! She’ll be ready for a new home soon !! 💕🥰

*sigh* Performance Horses 😩

Anyone else’s trail horses stay perfectly healthy & sound all year long but your performance horses go lame if you look at them wrong ? 😩😂

Apollo decided he was going to come out of the trailer sideways instead of backing out like a normal functioning member of society 🥲 just a little cut on the back of his fetlock but of course he’s the biggest baby ever & is acting like he’s dying 🤦🏼‍♀️ Vet said he’s all good, just overly dramatic 😂

His stall neighbour Nova is definitely judging him. She’s healing a minor tear in her suspensory ligament & isn’t half as dramatic as him 🙄

All jokes aside ! Wishing speedy recovery to our knucklehead performance horses ❤️

❤️ ! Meet Rudy ! ❤️

This sweet senior pony was pulled off a property by animal control as he was being left tied to a t-post 24/7. Our wonderful friend Liz called us to see if we could help find him a home. Of course we said we would do our best ! Liz fostered Rudy for the past few months & he has finally come home with us ! He’s got some vet work that needs to be done first but then he’s off to his forever home with a wonderful family & two little girls who needed a pasture companion for their horse !! We’re so glad we could find him a wonderful retirement home ❤️❤️ We wish you all the best Rudy ! 🥰

Hey y’all ! 😅 sorry we’ve been so radio silent, it’s been pouring down rain for the past two weeks so we’ve been dealing with all the icky horses ! Updates on what all has been going on coming soon !

He is such a cool little dude ! Stops on a dime, so so willing, & pretty level headed ! He’s still got some issues with being very buddy sour on the ground but he had ZERO issue riding away from the other horses today !

We are so excited to see where this guy goes 😊

Took Tanner to open arena night tonight !!

He got his first ride in after this but, for safety, I held the lunge line while my sister hopped on so I wasn’t able to get a video.

I love seeing my horses lay down ☺️

Why ?

Because it means they are comfortable & feel safe !

Horses are naturally prey animals. Their instinct is to never put themselves in a vulnerable position. Generally they will not lay down in a situation/location they feel nervous or unsettled in. So when I walk outside to see everybody taking a nap in the sun, it’s so rewarding. They feel safe enough to lay down & not feel like they have to be on guard ❤️

It’s the little things we have to be grateful for 😌

💕 !! Welcome Tanner everyone !! 💕
Our first intake of 2023 & he sure is a cutie !!

Tanner was a surrender, not quite a rescue. He was absolutely well taken care of & loved but has a thing for the ladies 😉 & his amazing owner needed something more easy going. We are so thankful for the people who do the right thing by their horses & we’re so excited to find this handsome man a good home ❤️ We suspect he has a retained testicle or was proud cut so the vet will be out to do some blood work & check for sure !

So with introductions out of the way, everyone give Tanner a warm welcome to HHRR 💕💕

Happy 2023 everyone !! We hope to make this year an amazing one & continue to grow our rescue so we can help more equines in need 💕

To start the year off strong, we have our first auctions of the year we want to attend. The Mize auction does have an online option so we may be able to attend both even though they are on the same day but we will have to see how that works out. Either way, January 21st we’re going to be bringing home some more babies.

We’re asking if you have any spare change you’d like to donate, please do ! So we can bring home as many as we can fit in the trailer & get them all proper health care as soon as we get home ! ❤️

Update on Spartan:

The vets said he had been down too long (during the night) & he can’t move one of his front legs so they recommended euthanasia. We thought over putting him in a sling but the vet doesn’t think the nerve damage in his leg will resolve its self so we decided to let him go peacefully. It’s a hard day for us as he was feeling so much better. He likely laid down to try & roll but was too weak to get back up. Unfortunately in the reality of rescue, not everyone we take in will make it. It’s the hardest part of our job but we have to be grateful that they get unlimited love & attention from us in their final weeks or months. Spartan will be so missed. His personality brightened my day everytime I went out to see him.

As 2022 is coming to a close, I thought it would be nice to share one of our success stories from last year 💕

This is Eris ! She’s a 9 year old Missouri Fox Trotter that we found in South Mississippi. She was extremely thin & being kept on a dry lot, covered in scrap metal, with no food or water. The owners were still riding her on the streets even in this condition 💔

Now two years later, she is one of my personal trail horses & lesson ponies !! She is the sweetest thing ever & I love her to pieces. She is what started my journey to establish an equine rescue & reminds me everyday how important what we do really is 💖

Week 2 Update on Spartan:

The vet came out & got him all vaccinated ! They aged him around 20 years old but he’s got some really bad teeth, hooks & ramps 😱, so it’s hard to tell exactly how old he is. Our vet recommended waiting to get his teeth floated because he is too skinny to handle sedation so he’s on a soup only diet for now. He also has a little heart murmur but the vet said it could just be from his poor physical condition & it will likely get better once he’s healthy !
