This handsome pup was just returned to his pack. After a 21 day basic board and train bootcamp, Duke is now a gentleman who chooses calm on his own.
He is respectful both on and off leash, thanks to relationship change that enforces clear rules and limitations. His resource guarding has been addressed and with consistency it will not grow into unmanageable level.
Duke’s humans have the tools and knowledge needed to see continued behavioral progress… for life. We are certain he will grow up to be the best dog ever. Can’t wait to watch! Great job buddy!
Today we welcome these two cuties to the pack: Benson (L) & Piper (R) 🥹 they will be joining us weekly to work on building confidence, impulse control, and separation anxiety. Stay tuned for their progress 🤗 and you can follow them here: .sausdogs

Another graduation day is upon us! Yay Finn!!! This sweet puppy just passed his basic obedience board and train bootcamp. He’s such a great dog, who can now control his excitement, respect his pack, walk perfectly on leash, and seek consistent direction from his pack leaders.
His wonderful humans will for sure get him even further than we did here; with time, commitment, consistency and follow-through.
We can’t wait to see how high you’ll soar buddy. And we are excited to see you on pack days 🥰😇.
ps. He was NOT having it with these Micky ears 🤣

Finn is making significant progress on all fronts after a week with the pack. He’s having a blast with his pals, and eager to learn. We know he’s going to make his family proud 🥹
Meet Duke, a 9 month old golden retriever pup, is here for a board and train bootcamp (Finn just hit the one week mark in his bootcamp, and already loves this new bff). Duke is a high energy and sweet pup. Over the next few weeks he will learn basic obedience skills, polite social behavior, and how to live in the happy-go-lucky and calm surrender worlds. 🩵🐾

Welcome to bootcamp Finn! We are happy to be able to spend the next month with this adorable puppy. Over the next few weeks he will learn how to live a happy, calm and balanced life with his pack. We can’t wait to see how far he will grow ☺️
Finally enjoying a cooler day. Grateful for rain ☔️ 🙏🏽🐾
We love it when board and train bootcamp dogs come back to visit after graduation. has been doing great since he returned home a few months ago. And that’s all because of the diligence and discipline of his pack leaders.
He will continue to blossom and grow; we are so excited to be on the sidelines as it happens. Way to go pack!!!
Thinking and speaking kindly to and about yourself is the best gift you can give others and your pup 💕
The word of the day is gratitude. Nothing brings us more joy than rehabilitating pups and training their humans. Bootcamp graduation days fill us to the brim.
Fitz sure earned these graduation ears! When he joined us over a month ago we were dealing with a VERY reactive pup. He who would lunge, bite, charge fences, break thru screens, and couldn’t settle or stay in one place calmly.
He lived in fight, flight, avoidance every day, almost all day long.
And now? He’s a calm, respectful and happy. Fitz trusts his pack and follows willingly. He is able to slow down and reset in minutes, where once took days, around fear triggers.
He can be trusted in any environment, around any specie.
We are SO incredibly proud of Fitz and his human pack leaders; we can’t wait to see how far he will go. This is just the beginning of a brand new life.
Today we welcome Cookie to the pack! This 10lb bundle of joy is going to become one confident puppy, learning from her patient new pals. We are overjoyed to have her join, and excited to watch her grow.
Fitz has made major strides during the first week of his board and train. Even with some reactivity, he was able to bounce back and grow significantly in trust. We are excited to see how much further he will go.
It's all about the relationship. You get what you pet.
•Pet your dog, all the time
•Talk to your dog, all the time
•Allow your dog to follow you, all the time
•Allow your dog to be on your lap or laying on your feet, all the time
•Pet, soothe, comfort your dog when it whines or barks for attention...or is simply anxious
•Allow your dog to demand affection/interactions
•Be emotionally dependent on your dog
•Allow your dog to do whatever it wants, whenever it wants
•Provide no structure or rules
•Refuse to crate train your dog
•Refuse to correct your dog when inappropriate behavior occurs
•Refuse to train your dog to be calm, relaxed, and independent by using a “Place” command, and/or “away” time in the crate
•Allow you and your home to be a free-for-all, where your dog has zero leadership and guidance
•Let your dog out of the crate when it whines or barks
•Avoid training or anything that makes your dog uncomfortable or unhappy
•And many, many more...
Basically, baby, soothe, allow, enable, lean on, and create a toxic dependency...so when you leave, your dog is a mess, because you haven’t prepared them to be strong, resilient, robust, independent, and alone.

Does doing these things automatically mean your dog will get separation anxiety? Absolutely not. My dogs are first and foremost my companions. None of my personal dogs have separation anxiety. They are all well rounded Canine citizens. Temperament is one of the top priorities in my breeding program because I have personally seen too many dogs with loose screws.
It's your job as an owner/trainer/handler to know and read your dog. Every dog is different. Every dog needs different things. Every dog has a different training style. It is YOUR job to learn these things. Dogs are smart creatures. They learn through positive and negative experiences. If you touched a hot stove, you'd think twice about touching it next time, right? Dogs are the same. There has been extensive studies from animal behavioralists that looked into what causes Separation Anxiety. Is some of it genetically predisposed? Of course it is. Is some of it taught? Absolutely.
There is no 'one shoe fits all' solution. Every situation has to be analyzed and approached according to what that situation needs. If you are noticing your dog is spiraling in a direction you don't desire and you don't know how to fix it, then contact an animal behavioralist. They will be thrilled knowing that you are being an advocate for your dog and want your dog to be a happy, independent Canine citizen vs being in distress in whatever environment that makes it uncomfortable.
I shared this post as to shed light on what COULD cause separation anxiety. That does not mean they WILL. Restating - EVERY dog is different has different needs. It is YOUR job as the owner to learn your dogs needs!
Sometimes we have to pinch ourselves, because it’s almost impossible to believe how lucky we are to get to do this for a living.
Watching dogs and their humans transform is more rewarding than words can properly express.
Thanks for trusting us, thanks for being in our pack, thanks for growing with us.
💞
It’s almost been a month since Otter started his board and train bootcamp. His parents were at the end of their rope when we first met.
Living with a red zone reactive dog is not easy. And, in their case, also caused a lot of physical harm.
He has developed so much trust while here both with humans and other dogs. We are excited to reunite him with his pack next week 🥰.
This is who Dana is now, and who she’s always wanted to be: a happy and much more confident pup that enjoys her sunshine, playtime, pool time, cuddles and walks. It’s been such a joy to watch her blossom into this beautiful flower 🌺
Not-so-little anymore Pancho is back to finish his bootcamp board and train. We will be whipping him into a polite and obedient pup for his amazing human pack. Then we will train them on how to keep it for life.
He will also be a regular member of our Pack Day program where he will grow up with a wonderfully balanced group of dogs that have grown together for the last 4 years we have lived in Orlando.
And on another note: Dana has her last week with us! We are so excited to push things into high gear before she returns home a completely transformed pup!
Today Chance returned to his pack; and we are so incredibly proud of him and all the progress he made over the last few weeks with us.
When we met Chance he was very unstable. He was reactive on leash. He bounced back and forth between intense fear and false confidence aggression in the most extreme ways. He either loved the new dogs he met, or felt threatened and went after them. He could not control his energy at all, and he was completely terrified of fireworks and stormy weather.
And now? He trusts his pack leader, walks perfectly on leash with zero issues, falls asleep to fireworks on YouTube, plays in the rain, knows how to regulate his excitement, is able to go to calm surrender so much faster, and is much more trusting of other dogs.
We can’t wait to welcome him back when his dad travels for work! See you soon buddy 😘💨🩵
Thank you everyone who came out to visit us today at 2024! It was such a successful event! We saw hundreds of amazing dogs and their humans. Can’t wait to see where this leads us.
Chance did AMAZING! This was a test he passed with flying colors. We are so proud of this dude.
Are you local to Central Florida? If you said yes, then YOU can join us tomorrow in downtown Windermere for - this event is totally free!
We can’t wait to meet you! Please be sure to stop by and visit us at booth 67 (see the map above for specifics).
P.S. we have some favors for you to grab too!!!
Chance goes home on Monday, after an intensive board and train bootcamp with us. He has not been an easy case. His unbalanced behavior is partly rooted in fear, and much more so through manipulation in the form of aggressive behavior.
He bounces from extreme fear and freezing to extreme dominance and aggression. Even his play was too rough and threatened other pups.
His training has brought him to a MUCH more balanced place. He trusts people and dogs more than ever before. He is able to sleep through fireworks, go potty in thunderstorms, play in the rain, and even settles in noise new places.
We can’t wait to show him off to his pack at home!
We are SO incredibly honored that our first Dog Psychology group class sold out so fast! We can’t wait to learn with you! For those that missed out on this class, don’t worry more will come… soon 💕

This is a great example of how older dogs correct puppies with rude social behaviors. Grey is gently correcting Eugen by putting him into a position of calm surrender over and over again to show that respect is required when it comes to personal space.
Todays #packwalk went so much better than yesterday, and it’s only Nakita & Rig’s second time! #powerofthepack #betterhumansbetterplanet
Today is going to be a beautiful day! And unseasonably cool too. Get outside and enjoy this beautiful #centralflorida day ☀️ #orlandodogs
Remember Grey? The dog who used to be terrified of big dogs? Who would dominate and use teeth whenever he felt threatened or insecure? One month ago Grey played with a Great Dane for the first time…. and now? Now he loves playing with his two girls, Aurora and Bella. 🐾 Oh and guess what else?! Bella turns 2 years old today 🐾💕 she was a bootcamp graduate over a year ago, and she’s grown up to be such a good, balanced, pup… thanks to the consistent dedication of her pack at home. #betterhumansbetterplanet
Whiskey has come SUCH a long way since we met her a few months ago. She used to be terrified of big dogs, scared of noises outside the fence, and unsure of new dogs in general. 🐾 Look at her now! A balanced pack can really do wonders for insecure pups. Today she even started playing with the Danes for the first time 🙌🏽😭🥰 🐾 #betterhumansbetterplanet #trustrespectlove #orlandodogs #balancedtraining #packlife
This is a BIG deal… Grey has come so far in just a few weeks with us. Today is the first time he has been able to play with Jasper, a bigger alpha male, without feeling like he needs to dominate or run away. 🐾 We love to use things like ropes to build confidence and teach healthy boundaries. 🐾 Jasper is such a patient teacher and loves to instruct other dogs on what balanced play looks like. He even lets them “win” when playing tug of war to help them build confidence and trust.
Grey is not the same insecure pup we met only one week ago! We are so proud of his progress in such a short time. The patience of the pack has paid off, today he’s ready to PLAY!!! 😍🥰 #betterhumansbetterplanet
We got to visit one of our favorite spots this morning: Snyder Park, in Fort Lauderdale 💕 #betterhumansbetterplanet
When we first met Jasper in 2019, he had all but been abandoned by owners, fosters and rescues alike. He wanted to kill all cats and other smaller animals, and liked to use teeth to communicate his frustration. . Only a few years later, thanks to consistent rules, boundaries, and limitations alongside trust, respect, and love... Bisous the cat is one of his best friends and he’s grown into a balanced and patient leader of the pack here at Pluto’s Pals. . All dogs are trainable and worth being given a second chance at life.
