Let me break it down for those who have not bred, are new to breeding or who are just cheap... When you birth these babies in your home, start desensitizing them from 2 weeks on, start them on potty training, have them completely socialized around children, deworm pups at 2, 4, 6, 8 weeks. Have their first DHPP vaccines and actually live, sleep, breathe taking care of these dogs and they are fully papered with a good health history, they are worth $2200-$3500. And that includes standard size and tiny imperials. Smaller Tzus sell for more. Even my non registered pups sell for $1800-$2000. Healthy, socialized and well taken care of pups are WORK. If you don't know then you really can't chime in with much experience. Raising litters is expensive and a labor of love if you are doing it right. Let people's reviews on FB and their websites of customers and repeat customers speak for themselves. Non shedding dogs are so important for these families that require a non shedding dog. So before you start telling a buyer that they paid too much for their dog, maybe consider how much actually went into said puppy and that litter. This isn't 1995, dogs are in a different demand then they were years ago. People treat their animals like children nowadays and many people actually choose to have pets instead of kids. So before you judge others, consider how the world is changing, how breeders are basing their prices on the quality of care that they are putting into their breeder dogs and their litters, and maybe, just support your friends and their purchase choices and then support ethical breeders who are committed to their dogs. There are really great breeders out there. You just have to trust your instincts and find them.
