Dirty Dog by Liz hi Liz! Thought I’d ask a pro before searching the interwebs. Is it true/have you heard of/seen it help, that if you trim the hair around a dogs’ paw pads that it’ll help him not slip around so much on hardwood floors? 🤔 I have many families with that issue and of course it gets hard on their joints too, so I wonder if this helps. In addition to rugs and runners.

🚨 These steamy days can be ‘ruff’ on our pooches. Our expert team of walkers took a moment to share some tips to make sure your pets are happy and healthy in the heat.

Sorter walks, and more inside play. 🎾 Keep walks to the early morning and evening hours rather than mid-day, paws on the grass instead of 🔥 pavement and sticking to the shady side of the street! Lots of fresh cool water, ice cube treats.🧊 Provide a cool, calm place for your pet to relax and get creative with water fun. Time to break out the sprinkler and a kitty pool filled with cold hose water is magic! The Saratoga State Park offers numerous spots for dogs to wade in shallow cool water. Cooling vests or bed pads for double coated dogs are especially helpful! Same goes for the hoomans. 🥵

It’s been a sock on your head kinda week. 🧦 I think most of us can agree? This weather has us kicking up our paws though. Leash up, it’s time for a walkie!

Just a quick furry reminder that 4th of July is the top missing dog weekend of the year. Fireworks and parades can feel scary and overwhelming causing our four-legged-friends to be skittish, frightened, run away, bite, or injure themselves.

Here are some tips to keep them safe:

☑️Keep pets inside.

☑️Ensure pets have ID tags.

☑️Walk pets beforehand.

☑️Keep the windows closed.

☑️Comfort pets with treats and toys.

☑️Play music and turn on a fan to combat outside noises.

☑️Stay alert that private fireworks may go off in neighborhoods and backyard parties all weekend, not just at public shows on the 4th.

If your pet does become lost, contact your local animal control and surrounding rescues/ shelters immediately.
