Roans are amazing! It’s like having 2 different horses throughout the year.

Livvy is what we refer to as one of “The Originals”. It was her and Honey’s rescue that started Warhorse Liberation. Not only that, but she excelled in her therapy horse training and became our first working therapy horse here at Warhorse Liberation.

Livvy is a bay roan and is considered grade. She is part thoroughbred, Selle Francias and quarter horse. She was born in approximately February 2021

Skippy is growing like a w**d and is becoming such a love bug.

He has really integrated himself with the Original 3 and is learning how amazing scratches are.

Stay tuned for more fun updates about Skippy integrating with the Originals and playing with the others.

Sorry for being MIA… so.much.has.happened!!!

From America getting hurt, fixing fences, building a wooden panel fence, to fixing a water trough from a flipped water heater, to stocking up on hay.

It’s been beyond hectic over here but soon I’ll post individually about everything.

Waiting on a second vet visits for America so please keep her in your prayers.

Here’s a throw back for y’all. Warhorse Liberation started with a beautiful standardbred mare, Liberty. She was truly amazing and Allison was super connected with her.

Liberty shattered her humerus out in the pasture and there were no options for surgery. This was August 18th, 2022. My heart broke that day, but I used that pain and put it to action to ensure no other horse was neglected like she was.

Thus Warhorse Liberation was born with that beautiful mare as part of our namesake. We then rescued Livvy and Honey in September of 2022, which you will see amongst our therapy horses now.

After a month of opening, I saw the need to provide a free alternative to in office therapy to our Veterans. So in addition to rescuing, we pivoted to start providing free equine life coaching as well. To help in our new found mission, Blu was donated to Warhorse Liberation.

It’s been a whirlwind of ride since then and I’m so honored for all of the support we’ve received and super proud of everything we’ve been able to accomplish to help Support our community.

Our mission has grown over the years, but at the heart is giving to help support our community with as much free support as we can - both with produce and equine services.

South Dakota Gives Rapid City

At Warhorse Liberation we work out of a home office. On this Giving Tuesday we have our 3 dogs to help support, snuggle and encourage us to do our best. Then we head out to the pasture to give all our horses breakfast, water, grooming and if scheduled hold free equine assisted services appointments.

This year we’re partnered with southdakotagives to help us with our Giving Tuesday Efforts.

We are 100% volunteer based so every dollar goes to care for our horses and cover costs for our equine service appointments. So your support helps us to get hay, grain, winter blankets, farrier work, veterinary care, tack, rundown panels, keep our truck running, cover lease space and so much more.
