Good luck to all the youth turkey hunters tomorrow. I will be doing fan mounts, turkey rugs, and rugs with wings. Rugs and rugs with wings come on a framed wooden wall, all include the beard a spurs also. All will be properly fleshed, washed, dried, preserved.

Ok folks the NWTF has set up a link to make it easier for you to contact your Senators and tell them to vote NO on bill S.258.
This is the bill designed to dismantle to F&W board to include "non consumtive" users on the board. What that means is people that are not sportsmen or women. We have extreme groups that are want to target our/your way of life in Vermont by getting into those seats on the board.
This bill passing would be a loss for all wildlife in Vermont as a whole. We talk about at the NWTF how we only see hunters, Anglers the true conservationists at any of the no profit organizations habitat workshops. Us as sportsmen and women are the only ones with sweat equity, and hands in the dirt on the habitat improvements for wildlife. These activities include planting trees for food, habitat or riverbank stabilization, removing old fences, removing non native invasive plant species and the list goes on. Some of you already know that I am also the president of the local NWTF chapter NWTF Southern Vermont Limbhangers Chapter . This year's banquet will be March 9th at the Rutland Recreation Community Center. I will once again be doing a donation for a free 2024 shoulder mount whitetail.
This is an amazing event that raises money for local conservation and habitat improvements on public lands.
There are raffles, games, silent and live actions and an amazing meal from the The Maple Angus. Follow the link below for a great night with like minded people.

I would like to take a moment to thank all of my past and present customers and those who referred customers to me as I stand here and look at this pile of bone and the 20 plus bears in the freezer.
I am truly a blessed man and a thank you to my family and my biggest support person with who nome of this would be possible my amazing wife Amy McGee Halsey. A side note 90% of these racks are Vermont bucks with most of them being local buck. Thank you all!!!

I am still taking deer in for mounts, there will be no drop offs until Monday morning. I am filling up fast and may be shutting it down for the season so please get ahold of me if you want to get a deer done. If we have already spoken you are all set.

If you are looking to drop a deer of at the shop please try to get them to me today or tomorrow or Thursday morning if possible. The shop will be closed Friday 11/24 through Sunday 11/26. I will accept more deer beginning Monday 11/27. Thank you all that have brought your deer to me so far I am beyond greatful.

We are in the shop now I am working on/wrestling with a couple bears to get back to customers and my nephew is caping deer. Just wanted to remind the lucky enough to have a moose permit this week I am taking moose in for shoulder mounts on that once in a lifetime trophy.

We here at Otter Creek Wildlife Studio are extremely excited to announce that we will running a fulltime operational taxidermy shop.
This has been a couple years in the making but with the fast growth in clients and work coming in the door this move is need to better serve all of my past, current and future customers. You and your mounts deserve my full attention.
First and foremost I need to thank my wife Amy McGee Halsey this dream could have never come true if it wasn't for you, picking up my slack around the house, pushing me and always being there to support me and the shop. I am truly a blessed man and none of this would be possible without you. You have sacrificed as much if not more than I have during this journey.
Thank you to Steve Bushey at Top of the knoll taxidermy for taking me under your wing and teaching me this art and always being a call away when I second guessed myself, you knew I had a passion to learn it, and have put up with me being my own worse critic.
Thank you to all my other family and friends who have supported me through this process of building and growing a taxidermy shop from nothing.
Thank you to my faithful customers that have supported me and referred others to me, and trusted me with your mounts, I am forever greatful.

We are just a few days away from youth/novice deerbhunting weekend. Otter Creek Wildlife Studio would like to wish all those headed to the woods good luck, make great memories and have fun. This year all youths/novice hunters who bring a deer or bear into the shop for a shoulder mount will get a free T-shirt and vehicle decal. I will make orders for sizes the week after.

If have never caped a deer or are unsure of it here are the few pictures for refrence. Please do not sit the brisket on your deer, there is no need or reason to do so when field dressing a deer. Split brisket and improper cuts have really taken a toll on time this year. Any deer with split brisket will have a minimum charge for repairs, it is not just sew it up and move on to make it look correct, if they are to bad I will not use that cape but will offer a replacement cape for what it cost of new cape. Thank you.
