We've come to a realization that African Soft Furs (ASFs) have been slightly overpriced in the market. However, their nutritional value is exceptional, and we believe that is the reason for their pricing! ASFs unique fat-calcium-protein ratio supports healthy growth and development, making them an ideal food source for breeding or growing reptiles.

After careful consideration, we've decided to lower our prices on African Soft Furs. Our goal is to provide the best quality feeders at unbeatable prices. 🥳

🌟 Exciting News Alert! 🌟

We are beyond thrilled to announce that McKenna, our former high school student helper, will be rejoining us at TJ’s Feeders & Exotics – and this time, she’s bringing her passion for social media along with her! 🎉

McKenna is not only a wonderful young woman with a keen interest in spiders, but she also has a true love and passion for the incredible animals we care for. As of the end of February, she will be taking the lead in sharing all things TJ’s with our community via social media, while also helping with some of our operations.

In addition to her social media role, McKenna will spearhead the launch of our YouTube channel, where she’ll dive into the exciting world of Wisconsin and surrounding state expos. 📹 She will capture that ‘in-show’ feeling for our viewers, allowing them to engage with local breeders and making it feel as if they’re right there with us.

Expect to see lots of fun content featuring our amazing reptiles, arachnids, and more, as well as behind-the-scenes glimpses into our daily operations here at TJ’s. 🦎 Plus, McKenna will be present at some expos, making sure our community gets the best experience possible!

Hello everyone,

We have some challenging news about one of our fellow scaled up vendors who is currently facing health complications. While they are trying to stay positive, we believe that as a supportive community, we can uplift their spirits even further by coming together to help them during this difficult time.

With February being the month of hearts, a time that symbolizes love and togetherness, we are excited to organize a fundraiser for our friend. We invite all local businesses, fellow vendors, and members of the community to contribute to a special raffle at the Scaled Up Expos event on February 23rd in Rothschild, Wisconsin.

We are looking for donations of raffle baskets that we can sell tickets for throughout the event. We hope to showcase several baskets, running a few every hour! These baskets can have a variety of themes—anything from reptile-related items, pet care essentials, movie night goodies, to special shopping or dining experiences.

If you are interested in donating a basket, please reach out to us and let us know whether you would like us to pick it up or if you will be dropping it off at the show. Every contribution, big or small, will make a difference and show our community's love and support.

🌟 Raising Feeders: A Commitment to Quality and Care🌟

Raising feeders for other animals is not for the faint-hearted, especially when it comes to rodents. We proudly raise all our rodents in-house, ensuring they are checked on and handled 5-7 times a week. Our focus is on cultivating pet-type temperaments while maintaining overall health and feeder quality. We forge strong bonds with these animals, believing they deserve the best life possible while in our care.

When it comes to culling, we prioritize ethics and safety, employing food-grade CO2 for euthanasia to ensure a humane process.

Here is to kicking off the year with our biggest production numbers yet, we have 32 rat breeding females, 60 mouse breeding females, and 5 large breeding colonies of African soft furs! Here’s to a successful and compassionate year ahead!

🎉 New Mouse Rack Completed! 🐭

We are thrilled to announce the completion of our new mouse rack! This exciting addition will allow us to welcome 20 more breeder females into our family! 🥰

Not only does this expansion enhance our capacity, but it also significantly boosts our efficiency in pet project breeding. Our commitment remains strong: to provide the community with not only top-quality feeders but also to offer amazing pets that are healthy, vibrant, and ready to be cherished.
