Calling all dog lovers 🐾🗣️

Did you know that being a remarkable dog owner starts with showing, not just telling?

Our four-legged friends are visual learners, and it's through visual demonstrations that we can truly communicate our expectations.

By leading by example and showing our dogs what we want, we establish clear communication channels and elevate our value as dog parents.

Let's be the shining stars in our dog's life and guide them towards becoming well-behaved and happy companions.

Together, we can create a visual symphony of understanding and love. 🌟🐶💪

Training tip of the day:

Never assume two dogs are alike. Just because one method or technique worked with one dog, doesn’t mean it will work with your next dog. Each dog is going to have their own unique obstacles to overcome. 🐶

Training tip of the day:

Be patient with your dog. Think about this, at what age do humans start working on potty training? Keep that in mind the next time you want to get after your 4 month old puppy for having an accident. Your dog wants nothing more than to make you happy. Take the time to teach them everything you’d like them to know. 🐶

🐶DOG TRAINERS TIP OF THE DAY🐶

Teach your dog good habits!

Once a behavior is repeated multiple times, it becomes a habit. That goes for both good and bad habits. If you’re wondering why your dog continues to repeat unwanted behaviors, chances are that we unknowingly rewarded a behavior that has now turned into a habit.

Examples of bad habits 🚫

-Jumping
-Biting
-Reactivity
-Rushing out of the kennel
-Pulling on the leash

Once those behaviors are repeated, they become habits for your dog because they have been tolerated. When unwanted habit are formed, they must be reconditioned.

If you want to change a habit, that behavior must not be repeated.

Examples of good habits ✅

-Comes when called
-Sitting before being released outside
-Sitting to greet guests
-Loose leash on walks
-Communicating effectively
-Crystal clear communication

Make sure you’re teaching your dog good habits and your life will be incredibly easier. 👍🏾🐶

DOG TRAINER TIP OF THE DAY:

Patience is power!

Before getting upset with your dog for not following instructions, ask yourself this:

-Have I taught my dog to do what I’m asking, in the environment that I’m asking them to do it in?

If the answer is no then we are setting our dogs up to fail.

Because dogs can do such amazing things, it’s easy to assume that they should already know how to do what we are asking them without practicing it until it becomes a habit. Things such as:

-Where to go potty
-When to go potty
-Appropriate ways to act when they are over stimulated
-How to greet guests
-How to greet other dogs

If we haven’t taken the time to teach them these things, they will do what they think is right, resulting to them making the wrong decision and creating bad habits. In order for them to understand these behaviors, we must first make it a habit. 🐶🥰

TIP OF THE DAY

Spend more time with your dog.

With life going a million miles an hour, it can be easy to forget that our dogs needs attention too. The more time you can spend teaching and playing with them, the less likely they are to form bad habits that will need to be reconditioned later.

Keep it fun and stay positive! 🐶

Don’t mind Max in the back. 😂🐶

TIP OF THE DAY:

Stop repeating yourself when asking your dog to do something. 🛑

Dogs work on a value system. The more times you repeat yourself, the less value your words have. 🐶

If they don’t respond the first time, try this

-Close the distance between you and your dog.

-Reach down and give them a little touch.

-Get down on their level.

If those steps don’t work, chances are you haven’t spent enough time teaching your dog in a less stimulated area.

Stay patient and keep it fun. You will have much better results. 🐶
