So excited on this #GivingTuesday2021 to be writing our first check to Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter, serving Fayette County Texas!
Thank you to everyone who has purchased a Ruff Balm!
Pictured is Frank, who not only is a Ruff Balm user, (& yoga companion), but was also adopted from our shelter 2 years ago!

Augie living her best life❤
Augie is the Why behind Ruff Balm. Adopted from our local shelter over a decade ago, it took us years to gain her trust. She had clearly been abused. About 5 years ago she had a spinal injury out of the blue that caused paralysis of her hind legs. Of course we took her to the vet, but there wasn't much they could do. They said she might walk again, or she might not. Well, for months as we used a harness to carry her outside, we told her positive things and encouraged her to move as much as she could...slowly, she began to make progress and now is able to walk and run (a little bit)! Sometimes her legs do not cooperate and she will drag a paw. This caused her to get terrible hot spots. I tried Everything to try and heal them. Finally, as I do make a bee balm here on the farm, I tinkered with adjusting my human balm recipe for a formula that would be gentle, non toxic and naturally derived for dogs. And Ruff Balm was born!
The best part is, a portion of every tin of balm sold goes back to support our special shelter here and other dog rescue organizations. After all, they give us so much love! 🐕 ❤
