Hello, we all hope you had a great Thanksgiving but before it ends, just a little note 😁
Good morning everyone!! As some of you may know, I recently got married on October 31st🎊 Though I have still been working and training, I did not have a lot of time for photos and videos of my training sessions. Here are a few returning clients and a few new ones as well!
We are also working on opening up our new building in about 2 weeks, so we will have classes starting just in time for Thanksgiving!! We will be prepping for the New Year and new pups to train so look out for some exciting deals and FREE seminars coming soon👀🐾🙌🏼
Huge shout out to IVVI Management, LLC for keeping all of my pages and emails running for me. Thank you!!
Mylow working hard on his leash walking skills!! Look at him killing it in heel position!!💪

Okay, so a lot of us don't really need an excuse to spoil our dogs. But dog owners know that too much spoiling can lead to bad health or behavioral problems. For a lot of dog owners, it's less about when to spoil their dogs and more about how to keep from spoiling them too much. National Spoil Your Dog Day is the perfect time to pamper our pets and by concentrating a lot of our spoiling on a single day, we leave room for our dogs to enjoy a more balanced lifestyle, overall.
is an initiative started by Pets of the Homeless. This is a national N.G.O. that works for the welfare of stray animals. The concept of this initiative stemmed from the N.G.O’s founder’s personal experience. After she had moved to N.Y.C., Genevieve once noticed a homeless man with a mixed breed dog. The incident struck a chord with her. The organization has been around since 2008. It has distributed more than 1.5 million pounds of pet supplies since then.
You’ve probably heard the phrases “working like a dog” or “it’s a dog’s life” when someone is referring to working on a task without taking any breaks. “Working like a dog” simply means to go the extra mile and work extremely hard. The saying comes from farm dogs who work from the crack of dawn till the sun sets, and sled dogs and sheepdogs that perform grueling tasks every day. Either way, the quote is a reference to persevering canines. Sounds relatable? Then today is your day to celebrate!
The day might not be what it is today if not for the efforts of Marcie Davis, a woman who has been a paraplegic for over 35 years. She wrote the book “Working Like Dogs: The Service Dog Guidebook.” The book focuses on personal stories, checklists, and practical tips to provide readers with a guide about service dogs and she is the host of the internet radio program, “Working Like Dogs.” She founded Working Like Dogs to honor assistance dogs around the world and she’s part of the sponsors of International Assistance Dog Week.
Dogs are special and there are oodles of national (and international) holidays to prove it. But unlike most of our doggy days, National Mutt Day, on July 31, focuses on the mixed breed dogs who sometimes get overlooked. This holiday inspires people to learn more about adopting one.
Here we have Piper(right) and Shelly(left) enjoying some Enrichment Time 🐾🙌🏼🥰 Remember that mental stimulation is just as important as physical stimulation when it comes to a happy, healthy dog…especially when it’s 1,000 degrees outside!😂
Thus, National Dog Photography Day is an enjoyable day that encourages everyone to showcase the bond they share with their dog. Some dogs can be quite photogenic and others may not be a big fan of the camera, but we can agree on one thing – all dogs are cute little fluff balls! So, what are you waiting for? Take your camera or smartphone and turn your pets into your models. Moreover, no one can say no to cute puppy and dog photos on their feed!
National Feed a Rescue Pet Week is July 23–29. This is the 7th year of the annual week, which aims to address the need for food for pets in animal welfare organizations' care. The week was launched in 2017 by GreaterGood.org and The Animal Rescue Site. You can help the cause at https://greatergood.org/national-feed-a-rescue-pet-week

National Zoo Keeper Week:
The week-long observance aims to appreciate zookeepers’ hard work, conservation efforts, and passion. They’re absolutely essential to the smooth functioning of any zoo and the continuance of the animal care profession.
What's your favorite zoo animal? How would your furbaby react at the zoo?
National Get Out of the Dog House Day is observed on the third Monday of every July, on July 19 this year. ‘In the doghouse’ is an idiom that people (often men) use to express that they are in trouble with their significant other. It is also used to describe being the cause of someone’s anger.
As some of you may have noticed our website was down for a few days it's up and running now but we think we have an idea who might have been up to the disturbance!

Fun and Games Friday: Treasure hunt
Instead of the same old boring bowl, feed your dog with a treasure hunt!
With your dog outside, in her crate, or in another room, take small portions of her meal and hide them all around the house! Place little caches in easy places to find at first. (Middle of the room is fair game!) You can also start getting trickier by putting them in corners, behind furniture, or even in the yard.
Let’s get sniffing!

Meet Nala! Nala has been working on her reactivity to strangers (people and other dogs) and new environments. We have been working very hard for the last few months and she has made leaps and bounds! It has been difficult to document her progress with pictures and videos as that is one her triggers, but this family has come a long way! Her parents (seen in the video) and her Grammy have dedicated a lot of time and effort towards getting her to this point. Below is a video from our last session this past weekend. We didn’t want to make the other gentleman feel uncomfortable by filming him as well but off to our left was a man riding a bicycle at the same time that this woman was passing Nala and her parents. Normally she would’ve been jumping, screaming, barking and pulling (bike tires are also a major trigger). Here we have her on a free leash and she walks right on by with none of that🙌🏼 Of course we have some more work ahead of us but we can start to take some field trips and keep the momentum going💪😁 #dogtrainingsavesdogs #obediencetraining #reactivitytraining #leashworkishardwork #germanshepherd #practicemakesprogress #happiedogs #freeleashtraining
Sometimes you just gotta practice randomly🤷🏻♀️ #notreats#practicemakesprogress#pittielove#basicobediencetraining#dedicated#pumpkinbandana PS- ignore the mess please, we are in the middle of moving😂
Training helps build confidence, tolerance, impulse control and strengthens weaknesses. Every dog is different and requires different levels of attention and effort. The pet featured in the video below is Isla, she has already started Agility with her family and is still learning! As you can see we a few mistakes, from both the handler and pet, but nothing is perfect when you are practicing! Remember that when you sign up😄 Agility is a great way to have fun with your pet while exposing them to new equipment each week. All levels are welcome! If your pet does not have a background in basic obedience, no problem ! I have packages available that include Intro to Agility sessions and Basic Obedience sessions. Call or message to start ASAP🐾🐶
