Our update for what happened in the year 2023 with Savoonga Animal Control.
Our send out number has never been this low..which means we're getting better control of the dog population and having less litters of unwanted pups. Also NO confirmed cases of viruses that we and other villages have had issues with in the past.
Goals for this coming year are:
> keeping dogs up to date on shots
> getting a vet out here at least once for surgeries and health care
> getting more donations of dog houses, kennels, dog food, and dog supplies
Thank you to the City of Savoonga, the community of Savoonga, PAWS of Nome, The Bering Sea Humane Society, Alaska native Rural Vet, Bering Air, and Ryan Air for continuously supporting these efforts to make the village safer for adults, children, and dogs :)
