SAMPSON
WE are hoping that there is an immediate short term ,or foster to adopt potential who can help us out. Sampson is the most loveable block head baby you could ever imagine. He has been waiting for a foster since arriving over a month ago. A few conversations started about a foster. But nothing ever happened. We checked Sampson out of medical boarding yesterday. And things started off perfectly for Sam and his foster brother and sister. However ,it turns out that Sampson really does not know how to play off leash🤦. And ran past me like a run away train. And tackled his foster sister. No body was hurt. But I will have to get Sampson back today, as the home will be full of family dogs for a few days. And the ability to seperate, is just not possible. Sampson will be coming home with Nicole and I. I just do not have it in me to return this baby boy back to boarding. On a side note, Sampson is nearly identical to our big, lovable, blockhead, smooth coat Saint Bernard "Lugnut". Who we lost to cancer almost a year ago. Sampson reminds us so much of Lugnut. They even smell the same 🥹. I'm not sure how it's going to feel having Sampson here. But unless someone is able to volunteer today, the responsibility lies with us to make him as happy as we can.
Rescue has become extra difficult for us over the last year. We have been completely without the use of our van for about a month and a half. Begging for rides on short notice, and making double and triple trips to get dogs to destinations. Is really a lot of extra work and time. I would like to thank everyone who has stepped up to help. We couldn't couldn't do this without you.
Please let me know if you can help with Sampson. He is completely dog friendly. But until he has had some time to decompress from being boarded for a month, we just don't want to turn him completely free to play off leash. Sam is on the strong side, but I managed him just fine. A foster home with a yard he can frolic about would be great. But anyone who can walk a 136lb puppy would be just fine. At this time we have a big 5×5 kennel for Sampson that will keep him comfortable. And safe when his foster is away. This situation is not nearly as difficult as I believe people think. It just comes down to the willingness to help.
So I am begging, please help if you can. I understand that the timing is not great. But here we are. Seriously, Sampson is just a big baby. And loves everyone. He just needs to learn to play off leash, and he will be the perfect dog!
