This is the story of two purebred Great Danes and one inexperienced owner. Our family bought the sire and dame to be family members and enjoy family life. We NEVER intended to breed them until Troi went into her second heat. I wanted to wait until Troi was at least 2 before we spayed her. We do not have intention of neutering Riker. Troi's first heat was very mild and I had no trouble separating Riker from Troi. That all changed in the second heat. Troi and Riker got together 3 times but there were no signs of pregnancy in Troi. Then, a week before the puppies were born, all the signs were present. We took Troi to the vet and we were told she would deliver any day, but no later than a week. A week to the day, Troi had delivered her first litter of puppies. She delivered 10 puppies, one was still born, so we were left with 9 puppies. We have 3 males and 6 females. Today is Day 5 and the puppies have all grown and are doing well!

Welcome to Rocket City Danes!!! This is a place where you will be introduced to a littler of Great Danes who were born Wednesday, March 22nd.
