Sozo 11: Merlot is chronically unsound with major hind end issues. She’s the sweetest mare but has been really objecting to any pressure on her back from shoulders all the way to her tail.

Sozo10: I noticed the other day that Ice’s biceps femoris looks to be “fascia bound”. It’s not smooth and flat, rather bunched up and squeezed like sausage in a tube. I used a fascia braid over biceps femoris, caught some flutes and the TFL. A couple of days with this decompressive braid should restore her fascia to normal.

Sozo 9: Poor Merlot had a bit of a tummy ache tonight. Taping is hard to see as all I had was black tape…it disappears into her coat! Within minutes of application, she was offering lots of yawning releases.

Sozo Day 8: Today Merlot got a little hoof taping. She’s royally bred for running but got genetically crappy feet. She’s flat soled and flares horribly. We’ve had a hard summer with lots of foot soreness. I chose this simple taping method to help increase bloodwork to her coronary band / hoof to encourage hoof growth.

Sozo 5: my first attempt at edema taping. Journey whacked her hip on something so I decided to do this application for inflammation and pain release.

Sozo 4: Tried a pigeon toe taping on Ice. There’s a big wrinkle, but the tape stuck very well so I didn’t want to pull it off. Hopefully I’ll be able to take an advanced taping class soon with more neat applications like this!
