This is one of my little girls favorite things to do. It helps the dogs respect her and practice what i expect them to do with a little one. Be calm and patient. At first i had to make sure they did a sit or down when she fed them. Now they remember for the most part.

I absolutely am not a professional dog trainer, though i have watched many dog training videos and figured out some things that work for me. I make a lot of mistakes! But it would be fun to be in this puppy-raising adventure together!

How to prevent biting and jumping/over excitement.
It's in the prevention, not so much the correction. Teach them what you expect (sitting, leave it, calm behavior with hands, clothes, etc ..) and reward it BEFORE they have a chance to nip, if possible. Redirect biting (which is instinctive and how they naturally play) to toys, lots of chew bones, raw meaty bones, sticks, pine cones, etc... Teach them it's ok to bite those, so they can satisfy their urge that way. Also, a tired (physically and mentally) puppy is a good puppy. Take them somewhere new everyday, if possible, for the first several weeks. Have them free run outside, chase you, fetch a toy, etc...

So the priority for this little one right now is socialization with people. A couple of weeks ago she became all of a sudden hesitant around new people, so we have been trying to take her to a new place every day where there are people and she can play at a safe distance at first, and reward her if they approach her or she approaches them. If she acts scared we back off a bit. Today she approached on her own a lot of people and children at the park! She is getting so much better!!!

So we kept this little girl from our litter. I'm pretty sure this was our last litter with Jade. But we are having so much fun with her. I'm going to be posting her training and socialization hoping it might be helpful to those who got my pups.

Bubbles!!! Her name says it all! Bubbly personality, friendly, cute and sweet. Her favorite training practice is heel and she is doing really good at it! Very curious, confident and active. The littlest of all at 3.9 lbs. She is 8 weeks and looking for her new loving home.

Zoey!!!!
Zoey is now looking for a sweet family to love her and continue training her. She would make a great service dog. She has mastered how to sit and give attention even with strangers. She is working on heel and socialization/desensitization. She loves to stay on people's lap and get cuddles. Very gentle and friendly.

Red!!!!
Red is a sweety. One of the most affectionate in the litter, He is just so so sweet. I just cannot describe it. He will twist his body and wag in a funny way to show you how happy he is to see you. I love him. Only the sweetest family for him. Lucky who gets him!! Contact me!!

Copper!!!!!
Copper is super friendly, super playful, and super happy!!! He is always on the go! He is not fearful. This is a great quality for a puppy to have. Fearfulness can sometimes generate aggression.
He is so fun!! The biggest at 5.3 lbs. Looking for a playful family that wants to share some fun with him!

Red is practicing manding and eye contact. The clicker is a tool I use to teach a new skill. It is quicker than a with and masks the very moment they are doing what you want them to do. Once they have the skill down, i fade the clicker and use words (my hands are often full so no way I'm gonna have a clicker at hand all the time!!!)

We have made our manding training ( making sit an automatic behavior when they want to ask something) a little more difficult. Now we are also asking then to look at us. First time for Zoey was a breeze. Attention is the mother of learning. If you can have their attention you can teach them anything.

This is one exercise to help prevent resource guarding, growling and biting to defend a treat/toy. Touching then while they eat, then adding treats to their bowl is another way.

Sweetie Red is taking his nap. He loves the crate.
We are starting to potty train. We have them with us at allenate times, out of their pen with the litter box, and they are either playing/getting trained, snuggling, napping in a crate, or going potty outside in the grass right after they wake up. They are doing great.

Molly is all heart and excitement. She is so affectionate!!!! She wags and wags. She has the cutest bunny hop and will lick your face off!! My daughter will keep one of the females. She is deciding between her and Zoey.
