Sweet Isla’s first groom with me! This little lady was hit by a car and surrendered at a rescue due to surgery costs. Luckily, one of my wonderful customers adopted her and helped her recover from a broken leg! I feel like she is a good example to show where patience and understanding come into grooming. Today when I turned on the water, she got very upset. So instead of forcing her to experience a traumatic first groom with me, we opted to do what we could today and take it one appointment at a time. She didn’t get a bath, but was clipped, got 2 of her nails done, 3 pads shaved, and was great for her face! Thanks to super understanding and caring owners, we are able to build a great relationship and hopefully one day be able to complete a full grooming. It may not be next time, and it may not be in a year, but she will feel safe and not be made to endure a stressful experience. I always follow the “humanity before vanity” rule! Just some food for thought! It’s worth taking the time to adjust your pups to the whole process! ❤️❤️
