I just got off the phone with an animal control department in the state of Washington. They had a stray dog with a microchip and wanted help finding the owner. We ran into 2 problems because they not the adopting shelter use SAINT.
1 - the owner contact information was incomplete and there virtually useless
2 - had the owner info been correct, the AC department could have had that pup home in a fraction of the time. They wouldn’t have had to try to contact the adopting agency and could have moved on to other animals.

I just read that the average price for a pet owner to get their pet microchipped is $25 - $60 including registration fees, depending on whether they go to a shelter or a veterinarian.
If an organization wants to add to their bottom line, then keeping prices the same and spending less on purchasing chips/registration will add up quickly.
If an organization wants to drive their prices down, then spending less on purchasing chips and registration will help accomplish this goal.
So someone please tell me why veterinarians and shelters alike continue to pay well over $5 per chip with registries that have annual fees when we are offering a microchip of the same or better quality for a lower price AND our registry is free for life. The reluctance to change is so great that vets and shelters are paying as high as $17/microchip! We are running a sale and offering 134 khz, ISO certified chips for $2.50 each.
I know some microchips come with other deals attached, but in most cases, it is a simple matter of taking advantage of a lower costs option.
