Here we have changed “puppy come” to “Coco come” to play the Name Game.

Over the next couple of weeks as we prepare the puppies to go to their new homes I will be posting information of how we have raised the puppies. This will give the new owners insight on how their puppy has learned skills and how they can start off working with them. The first video here will show how we have started recall with the puppies. Every time we fed them we would get their attention with “puppy come” and then the reward will be the meal. Now we can transition them from that to the Name Game. Female #1 has been named Coco by her new family. So we will start with “puppy come” and turn that into “Coco come”. Each time she will get the reward of a treat or praise. This will teach her that paying attention to the word “Coco” is a great idea and will lay the foundation for name recognition.

Two years ago our little Opal was born. I had no idea that I was going to get a puppy from her litter, but it was meant to be ❤️ This little girl is everything I would want in a working breed. To celebrate her day we got to do disc league, pick a toy and treat from Tractor Supply, and eat lunch at our favorite dog friendly place, Perks. Happy birthday to the best behaved girl in the world with just the right amount of drive 🎁🎈🧁

How mini Australian shepherds got so popular

They are everything loved about Australian Shepherds in smaller bodies. What’s not to love? (Our dogs are registered with ASDR, mentioned in this article. However our AKC dogs are Australian Shepherds, but are smaller than 18”. This litter is due February 12th, 2020. The puppies will be ASDR registered. This litter could be carriers for MDR1 and DM, clear for the rest of the Australian Shepherd panel. Estimated height 14”-16”.
