👉 Navigating the Adolescent Fear Period 🐶

Being an adolescent isn't just difficult for humans! It's pretty difficult to navigate as a young pup too! Puppies actually go through three fear phases. Stella is currently going through her third phase (the adolescent phase) and is pretty skeptical of visitors. Her human is learning to help guide her through and we are here to help them both!

Here are a few ways you can help support your pup!

🐾 Stay calm and supportive. Your pup might suddenly seem scared of things they used to be fine with. Be patient and provide confident reassurance without coddling.

🐾 Consistent Exposure. Gradually expose your pup to new experiences, people and environments. Keep interactions positive and rewarding to build confidence.

🐾 Encourage exploration. Encourage your pup to explore at their own pace. Let them investigate and reinforce their bravery with their favorite reward.

🐾 Maintain Routine. Consistency is always the key to success. Routines can provide stability and security.

It's incredibly easy to fall into the trap of comparing your new puppy to memories of past dogs. But every dog is unique and comes with their own personality and learning style.

Be present in the moment when training your new pup. Remember they didn't come to you pre-programmed. Imagine they are a blank canvas waiting for us to paint the picture of our expectations. 🖼️

Don't wait, grab your paintbrush (actually your treat pouch) and start creating that foundation of expectation 🎨🖌️

Pictured here is little Cooper and his dad, absolutely ROCKING leash training! Cooper has to be one of the smartest puppies I've ever encountered! These two are a dream team and such a pleasure to work with every week! Talk about building a strong foundation!

✨ Untapped Potential ✨

I love to show people just how capable their dogs are. Humans don't know what they don't know...i don't know how to build a house, fly a plane or fix a computer along with many other things, BUT with the right guidance I could definitely find a way to progress in ways that benefit ME. So you don't have to be a dog trainer, but if you're going to make a dog part of your family, it wouldn't hurt to get some guidance from a professional in order to tap into your dogs full potential! 💚

Ajax's mom of course knew he was smart, but is now finding out just how capable he is! This is only the start for them and I can't wait to watch their progress 🐾
