PACC's Kitten Caravan adoption event is this Sunday, June 23rd from 12-2pm at the River and Craycroft Petco. Seven of my beautiful, healthy foster kittens will be there. They are altered, microchipped, dewormed and have their age-appropriate vaccines. All of kittens were bottle raised and very people friendly. If you are looking for a new feline family member, this is a great chance for a sweet kitten raised with loving care.

And so it begins....This little one was brought to PACC by a good Samaritan. He was 2 days old when I picked him and another foundling at PACC on Sunday. No one knows what happened to their mothers. Any number of things can befall an outdoor cat.
I will give up my sleep and time to help them make it to an adoptable age. But I am begging every pet owner to do the right thing, spay and neuter your pets. Volunteer to help with one of the many TNR programs in Pima County to control the feral and community cat population. Foster, foster, foster! If you can't take bottle kittens or puppies, host a mama and babies. Mama will do all the work for you and you get to play with kittens or puppies. The shelters are FULL. The rescues are FULL. And when you say, "Someone should do something." just remember- You are someone!

Another foster ready for his new home.

Captain Harlock, A813117

Meet Captain Harlock! He is a handsome tuxedo and totally a cutie pie. Captain had a kitty cold that damaged his eye and it needed to be removed. He does very well with one eye but will need an indoor only home for his safety. Captain is learning how nice it is to sit on a person's lap and be petted. He is very curious and playful. Captain is cautious but friendly towards my cats and my cat savvy dogs. Captain will have his sutures removed and will be adoption ready after 8/26.

Here are a couple of little beauties ready for adoption.
Ninja, A807110, is one of the sweetest and most beautiful kittens who I've had the pleasure of co-fostering. She is gorgeous! Plus, she is a total purry, cuddly lovebug. She would really like to be adopted with her beautiful, loving tortoiseshell sister, Mariposa. Ninja and Mariposa were bottle raised kittens and they adore human companionship. These girls have also been around cat friendly dogs and other cats. Two kittens keep each other company when the humans are busy and are double the fun to watch. Sweet Mariposa, A807113, is as colorful and lovely as her butterfly namesake. She loves to be cuddled and purrs to show her pleasure. Mariposa would prefer to be adopted with her pretty sister, Ninja. They are great together and keep each other occupied when their humans are doing "people stuff". Mariposa and Ninja were bottle babies and are very bonded to humans. They have also had some exposure to cat friendly dogs and other cats. “To love a rescuer you must love all of her. You must love the scars covering her body from panicked and hurt animals she was trying to help. You must love her fractured heart, that has been broken so many times she no longer even takes the time to mend the pieces.

To love a rescuer, you must embrace her grit and determination, and know that although she fights a war she can never win, she can and does win a few battles. You must love the tears she will shed over those she lost. You must give her comfort that she refuses to accept, as she blames herself for things she could have never foreseen.

To love a rescuer you must acknowledge the rage she feels towards the world at times, and know that anger is driven by a love of life too few have. You must give her space and room to cry and mourn for the losses that others have caused out of carelessness or cruelty.

To love a rescuer you must understand her passion to heal and save is a calling, not a choice. You must accept that to save animals is part of her soul and without that she could never be happy.

To love a rescuer you must be patient. You must accept her work comes first. She will forgo sleep, forgo food, forgo her life for animals in need. She will work tirelessly until her body and mind fail her completely and she cannot go on.

To Love a rescuer, you must be strong. You must not be threatened by her focus and love of animals. You must accept that the things you love about her, the strength and convictions and loyalty are also what drives her sense of duty to animals in need; you cannot have one without the other.

To love a rescuer you must never ask her to choose, because she will, and it will not be you. “

Many people don't know that many of the supplies that fosters need are provided by donations from kind, generous folks who want to help but don't have time to foster themselves. Some fosters could not afford to volunteer for this lifesaving service without these donations.
