Say hello to our newest fosters, their momma was rescued by a Good Samaritan in the Perry Township area and is going to adopt her. She got her in the nick of time as she had five healthy babies not long after being rescued. She’s combo negative and all are well in the care of one of our foster homes. Names to come but it looks to be 4 boys and 1 girl.

Saturday help needed at Petco, even just one Saturday a month would help greatly. We so appreciate our Petco volunteers, it makes adoptions possible and you get lots of cute kitty cuddles.

We really need someone to tend to our Petco fosters while they await their forever homes, lots of cute kittens and a couple fun older kitties to play with on a weekly basis. If you can do even one Monday a month it would be a huge help!
Today was a difficult day but a good day. We took in two mommas and 12 babies, covered in fleas and borderline anemic on the bigger kittens. It took four of us two hours to bathe them, dry them, get the fleas remaining off them, deworm the mommas, vaccinate and microchip the mommas. Two of our fosters made room for them in their homes and they are getting excellent care and love tonight. Both mommas are sweet and the babies will be ok, we hope. The smallest are starting to lose their umbilical cords, their gums are pink and they had less fleas.
Please spay and neuter your pets. Please help by spaying and neutering outdoor cats. All of this was completely preventable. We couldn’t say no, one look and we knew these babies needed help. It will cost $1400 just to spay and neuter this bunch and that doesn’t account for their vaccines, dewormer, flea preventative, food, litter, or care. Or the foster homes being unavailable for months.
We also took in Sparrow, a mom to be, today. One of our rescue partners took her in and rescued her from an unsafe environment.
Again, ALL OF THIS WAS PREVENTABLE! Any bit that you can donate to help cover their care is much appreciated. We will be posting some Wishlist Wednesdays the next few weeks to help with supplies we will need to replenish what we are using up. Funds through Facebook take at least 30 days to arrive so if you’d like to donate through cash apps we will put those in the comments.
If you need help finding low cost spay neuter services, we will help. Because of this intake, we will have to say no to the requests we get on a daily basis. Multiple requests every day.

Cayenne delivered six healthy babies last night and the milk bar fights are already underway.
We were asked to intake these two mommas and their babies today but right now we don’t have any open foster homes and have another mom in labor. Kitten season never stops, we need an urgent foster or two. Please share, their human has fallen on hard times and really wants to do right by them.
Fluffy has 8 kittens about a week old and Fredwina has 4 kittens about 2-3 weeks old. These kids really need rescued and we would love to help but we need help to be able to help.
Please share, please help if you can. Your friend network might have someone that can help.

It’s back to school week at Petco, and you can come take these cuties to class by adopting and taking them home. They’re sure to learn lots from you and maybe even teach you a thing or two. We have kittens and adults available and we will be there 12-3 PM tomorrow, 8/10.

Little Randy is back with his momma, Ruth and his sister Robin. He’s so much better since yesterday and should do ok with momma and some extra formula. This lil guy was getting the worst of the abuse from the neighborhood kids but he’s a fighter. We are fighting for you lil man!
Disclaimer: we don’t normally take kitties into movie theaters or on days of adventure but he needed constant supervision and his foster had a big day.
This lil guy came to us with his sister and momma a couple days ago from one of our awesome rescue friends and through one of our amazing volunteers. A Burmese speaking family alerted us to this sweet family that was being abused by local kids, they were tossing them around by their legs. Our amazing volunteer, Suk, speaks Burmese and was able to get with Patty our rescue friend to get them to us.
This intake was a no brainer.
Mom is named Rusty, we are affectionately calling this lil guy Randy.
He started having a mild seizure today, we immediately started some supportive care to raise his blood sugar, switched to formula in case he’s not getting enough milk from his momma, and hopefully we can return him to his momma in a couple days. He’s already doing much better tonight but he is possibly having some neurological issues. We may need to get him into one of our vets Monday morning.
He had a big day by attending under the cloak of invisibility the Cat Video Festival screening, had his dinner on the patio of a local French inspired bakery, went to Menards on his way home, and he met lots of adoring fans. A lovely lady named Rachel donated some money to his get well fund. He gave her some really cute pictures as his thanks. A big thanks from us too!
His belly is full and he’s settled in for a nap.
Randy is proof that good people exist no matter how much bad there is in this world being done to animals that are defenseless. He’s proof that there’s hope. He’s proof there’s adorable cuteness and love to go around. And he’s proof that what we do, what all of us in animal rescue in our many forms, are tired and saddened by the work but also rewarded by the love our rescues give back. We know they know and that they’re thankful. Littles like Randy keep us going even as our hearts break for what they’ve endured.

We can’t do what we do without our volunteers like Evan and N and Ace! Evan joined us Saturday (his mom helped us too) and helped us by cleaning, putting supplies away, and playing and cuddling with our fosters. He helped get Benson here adopted. He’s getting service hours to join the National Honor Society.
We had a volunteer get a pallet of wet cat food today that will help us feed many of our fosters. A big thank you to American Legion for hosting this giveaway for approved rescues. And our awesome fosters like Ace that provides such great care to our foster kitties like Tomahtoe (she’s not available for adoption yet).

Today is and we are asking for donations to help cover medical bills that we have for a few fosters like Daisy. She came to us and her age was estimated as 1-2 but she’s around 7-8. Her tongue is almost always out but turns out this cute perpetual is because she needs a dental. We have included a couple estimates that we have received for her care.
She’s had a vet visit for a rash that developed on her stomach, she was treated for that and now we move on to her much needed dental. We have a few that need medical care (they are getting it, but that means bills) that we will be sharing on Mondays.

Emerson and Reeder are looking for their second chance at forever love! These boys were raised with us as kittens and were found at the intersection of Emerson and Reeder Street. They were returned when family dynamics changed and they weren't able to give the boys as much time and attention. They are bonded as bonded can be. As you can see, not much has changed from kittenhood to now. They still love snuggling each other! They would love a home where they get lots of love and attention! They are doing well at Speck's Pet Supplies (6845 Bluff Road, Indianapolis) and enjoy seeing all the new faces come in and out each day. They are only a year and a half old and still get the zoomies from time to time. They are gentle giants and ready to find their 2nd chance at love. One of our dear followers said it best, “I really like Siren as mentioned above. It has 2 connotations: Beguiling which she certainly is & of course it's associated with fires.” We couldn’t agree more, Nancy! She goes to the vet tomorrow afternoon and we will know more about her condition. She’s doing great, using the potty, not making any messes, eating, and cuddling. Thank you everyone that shared her story and for all of the wonderful name ideas. We had former fosters with several so we needed something new.
