We are still at full capacity and unable to take in new rescues at this time. We have many rescues looking for safe homes to go to if you are interested in adopting, please reach out. 🩷 Just a reminder that we are a very small one family animal sanctuary. We are not able to take in as many animals as local shelters, so please be understanding of our capacity. 🩷 if you would like to help or volunteer either with the rescues at the sanctuary or as a foster, please send us a message 😊

ATTENTION: We need to put hardwood flooring down in our new building for our rescues. We have the wood and are looking for a member of our community who knows how and can help us install it, if anyone would be willing to volunteer to help us please comment or message us. Thank you! πŸ’›

As soon as the floors are down we can move the rescues into their new space and out of their enclosures/cages so this is very important and we are hoping to get it done as soon as possible so these babies can roam free! πŸ’›

UPDATE: At this time we are unable to take in any new rescues, we are at full capacity as our new building to expand is under construction.

Because of family medical reasons we have not been able to reply to phone calls and messages as usual. Please be patient with us as we return phone calls and messages as we are able.

If you need quicker assistance please contact the other local rescues in your area. Thank you for understanding as we navigate the health of our family while balancing the care of our current rescues.

If you would like to volunteer your time to help with any of our current rescues or would like to foster so that we could take on new rescues as we wait for construction to finish please send us a message.

Thank you. πŸ’›

07/06/2023

Here at Peachy Creek Rescue we have spent the last year trying to get our name out into the public so that our community knew we were another resource that could help when it came to animal cruelty and protection in our area. We have successfully done just that β€” YAY! πŸ’› But we recognize that being in the public eye more also comes with a lot of rumors, opinions, assumptions, and sometimes blatant lies about who we are and what we do. So we would like to give everyone some helpful information to better understand our rescue.

I have been working with animals my entire life, whether it was on my grandmothers farm or my neighbors farm, or just helping out in the community. In 2020 my life long best friend and cat of 20 years, Peaches, passed away. After her passing I started coming across many animals in need sometimes almost eerily and I would help them, rehabilitate them, vet them, and find new homes for them because I couldn’t just look away and do nothing. After doing this so often and after so many rescues my friends and family encouraged me to make what I do official.

At this current time our rescue is run solely by me and my husband with occasional help from friends and family. ALL expenses come directly out of our pockets and are budgeted into our family bills. We have never β€œrun out of money” but we strongly appreciate donations and gifts from the community as this helps us get better care for our rescues and allows us to help more animals than what we could do just solely paying out of our pockets. We went to many events and did a lot of fundraising in order to raise enough money to apply for a 501(c)3 to become an official nonprofit (that was thousands of dollars). Unfortunately, obtaining a 501(c)3 is a very lengthy process and we are still waiting for the state to review our tremendous amount of paperwork for approval. We have always been upfront and candid about the fact that we are still waiting for our 501(c)3 status.

After we raised the funds to file for the 501(c)3 the next step was to raise money for a larger building so that we could expand and help more animals and move them out of our family home and foster homes. We have JUST made this possible (This is money we raised solely as a family and with no donations from the public) and our new building will be up in about 3-4 weeks as long as all runs smoothly.

✨As we are waiting for the new building to be ready we are unable to take in any more rescues UNLESS we have adoptions of our current rescues making space available. We are still a small and upcoming rescue and our resources are limited. If we are unable to help directly we always provide information for other rescues or resources in our area to try and help. We receive hundreds of calls, voicemails, and messages weekly so please be patient with us and if we haven’t gotten back to you after a lengthy amount of time feel free to reach out again because chances are we missed it, we are only human. ✨

We are a non euthanasia rescue, and any animals that are not adopted or are unable to be adopted due to special needs, stay with us on our 3 acre sanctuary until the end of their days. Being a veteran owned and operated rescue we do not charge adoption fees for any first responders, active military, or veterans. We require that all adopters fill out a lengthy approval application to ensure they are going to good homes. We have helped hundreds of animals in a short amount of time just the two of us.

Our community is in need of many more animal rescues and resources due to overpopulation and uprise in animal abuse and cruelty, and putting down small and upcoming rescues defeats the purpose of helping animals in need. All large and corporate rescues once started out as small dreams in people’s homes and ours is no different.

We are thankful for all the love, support, and acceptance that we have received from the community and our partner rescues. We will continue to help our community and animals in need to the best of our abilities and we will continue to be transparent in all that we do. πŸ’›

26/05/2023

The next time you see a stray cat and you think β€œit’s nice out I’m sure they are hunting just fine” or β€œit’s feral it probably has rabies or is contagious”. Or the next time you think β€œI don’t need to fix my male cat because he can’t have babies so I won’t have to deal with any kittens”. Or the time you decide you can’t continue caring for an animal because of finances or whatever reason and you think to put them outside instead of calling a rescue to surrender them because β€œtheir ancestors lived outside…animals are meant to live outside right? They have instincts to help them right?”

I want you to think of this Mama.

I want you to think about how she went from a loving warm home to being dumped in an unknown area. I want you to think about how she was impregnated by aggressive feral Tom cats (yes multiple. Female cats can be impregnated by multiple males at one time). I want you to think about how after she was pregnant she was seen being attacked by the local aggressive Tom cats over scraps of food, for drinking out of a water puddle, or for simply walking in β€œtheir” territory. I want you to think of how scary birthing can be and how this Mama had to hide in the dirt in a flower box outside of an apartment laundry room because it was the closest and safest option for her. I want you to think of how she labored in the 90Β° heat with no food or water to sustain her through birthing five babies. I want you to think about how two of her babies died laying in the heat for just 5 hours even though they were shaded. I want you to think about what might have happened to the other three babies if good samaritans didn’t step in and call me to help her. And then I want you to think of how if they hadn’t, she would have been carrying in her mouth sick dehydrated babies around aggressive animals wishing to fight her or even eat her and the babies, constantly searching for food and water and safety. And how if all the babies died, or they grew up and weaned, that this was a fate she would have to repeat every few months for the rest of her life which could be up to 20 years. Really think about how that is the life of every animal living outside in our communities.

You may see a stray animal and think β€œthat’s just life” but when we see a stray animal we see the hurt, pain, and trauma that comes from dumping and being left to fend for themselves. Ignoring them only makes the amount of stray and feral cats in our area worse. It takes maybe five minutes to call around to one or multiple rescues until you can find someone to help them if you are unwilling or unable to do so yourself. It takes Five minutes to google or call and find low cost spay and neuter clinics who can help you fix your animals at a price you can afford. Some rescues even cover vet fees FOR you so they can be fixed and some clinics do 100% FREE spay and neuter days.

All year around small rescues like mine and even large rescues are swamped because there isn’t enough help from the community. If you reach out to a rescue and they don’t reply fast enough for you (because they are out every day saving lives and receiving hundreds of messages) or they are they tell you they are unable to help because they are at full capacity, keep calling, check in other counties. Most of the time rescues will drive out to you and you don’t have to pay for anything or drive to them.

The next time you see a stray, instead of thinking β€œthat’s just life” I want you to think β€œIt only takes five minutes to help them.”

Five minutes of your day to spare an animal from decades of pain and suffering.

And for those members in our community who put in more than five minutes to help save the lives of the animals in our area…we see you and we appreciate you, please continue to do amazing work. πŸ’›

POSTING FOR A MEMBER OF OUR COMMUNITY🌟
REHOMING 🌟

Affectionate little fur baby needs her forever home! This is Freyja. She’s roughly 1 and a half years old and has been vetted, chipped and spayed. She ADORES people and just wants to play and snuggle all day long. Unfortunately she does not get along with other cats and I can’t keep her. I so badly wanted to be her forever home but she is not happy with my other fur baby. She would be the perfect companion to a first time pet owner or anyone who doesn’t have any other pets in the home. I just want her to be safe and loved in a true forever home where she feels safe.

IF INTERESTED PLEASE MESSAGE US SO WE CAN PUT YOU IN CONTACT WITH HER CURRENT OWNER πŸ’›πŸ’Œ

Kitty Keychains for Dusky! 🐱

Dusky and Peachy Creek Animal Rescue need our help!

After an unknown incident Dusky needed an emergency tail amputation. This amazing rescue now needs to raise $708.12 to cover the cost of this expense. They are still in the process of obtaining their 501c3 status so everything is out of pocket for them. Baby-Kay Krochet is jumping in full force to help by selling assorted pocket kitty keychains for $20. All proceeds, except for any shipping cost will go direct to the rescue. Please consider purchasing a keychain to help Dusky. You can also donate direct to the rescue.

⭐️DUSKY NEEDS YOUR HELP!⭐️

Thanks to the amazing people at Shady's Paw Animal Rescue we were able to get our sanctuary cat Dusky in for an immediate tail amputation following a severe injury (pictures of the original injury too graphic to post) but now we need YOUR help to cover his medical bills. We are still in the process of obtaining our 501c3 status and therefore everything we do is out of pocket or with help from our community. We will be running this fundraiser up until June 10th. To donate please cash app us at $peachysrescue or message us for other ways to donate. πŸ’›
