So here at the BL Ranch, we’ve been MIA…
Back in January, we bought a property and have been in the process of moving. We’ve fenced one pasture and we’re able to get the animals moved over at the end of March. We continue to work on fencing the other 2 pastures but with kids activities and work, it’s been slow going.

From left to right:
Kynzie got First place 0-6 month buck, and Champion Breed Buck. First place 0-6 month full blood does and Reserve Champion Breed Doe.

Autumn got First place 6-12 month buck, and Reserve Champion Breed Buck.

Tenley got Second place 0-6 month full blood doe and Second place yearling full blood doe. Tenley also got Junior Showmanship.

Congrats girls!!! We are super proud of all of you.

In response to changes at ABGA regarding DNA, BL Ranch will continue DNA testing.

Super excited for our first BL Ranch bred babies! One doe and one buck. Both will be shown by one of our kiddos at our county show in December!

We’ve had a few changes at the BL Ranch in the last few weeks. We are happy to have been able to add this doe from Nelson Farms to our herd. We look forward to seeing what she will do for us in the show ring and during breeding season.

Thankfully we got everyone fresh, not frozen, water and filled up coolers for ourselves before the power went out.

We’ve been heavy on the boys with 5 boys and 3 girls.

BL Ranch has had a busy last 7 days. We had 2 boys born on Sunday. One struggled to stand and nurse, so he’s been taken inside to be a bottle baby by us. And one of our first time mommas had a baby boy yesterday afternoon. This dapple was a whopping 9.8lbs at birth 😳😳

We had a pretty good time at the Showdown on the Brazos. It was Tenley and Autumns first time showing and they did great! With over 210 entries in the show, Autumn got 8th place with Patches in the 2nd show. Tenley and Kynzie had a tough class with close to 40 goats in both of their shows. And due to the number of entries we made the tough decision to leave at 9pm on Saturday instead of waiting to show Hondo. All in all- the kids loved it and we all learned a lot!
