The name of this FB page comes from my first Vizsla, Jackson - a very gentle and good natured boy. My good friend used to call him Zen Master Jack - which I also considered for the name of the page. I decided on Gentleman Jack’s because I thought it was a bit more fitting. Now, the flying part - that came about because Vizslas are naturally fast and athletic, in general and specifically, I recall an incident several years ago when Jack and my Weimaraner, Stella, were out in a nearby park off-leash. I had called Jack back to me by whistling - he was behind and uphill on the trail. Stella had been just off the trail near me and when I whistled she too came to me and in doing so now stood directly in the trail and at the same time Jack was leaping over the crest of the hill trail. Amazingly, Jack corrected course mid-air and avoided landing on Stella and safely stuck the landing a foot and a half to her left. Stella wasn’t impressed but I marvelled at my flying Vizsla boy. That’s the story of this page - my first Vizsla, who I adored and a breed I’ve come to admire and love and my inspiration to become a breeder.
