Yes, I am still here and still adjusting horses!
I'm just not the best at updating social media! 🤣

➡️SOUTHWEST OK- I will be meeting a client in Hobart Saturday morning, which is not a direction I go very often. If there is anyone else southwest that would benefit from meeting in Hobart, shoot me a message or text and let me get you scheduled!

Reminiscing on some cooler weather today! 🥵

Did you know adjusting our canine friends can help maintain their mobility and comfort as they age?

Keeping the spine mobile can help decrease the effects of arthritis, hip dysplasia, etc, and sometimes even decrease dependence on medications such as NSAIDs.

Houdini here loves his adjustments!

Your summer reminder that the science says not to scrape your horses off after rinsing!
👉They continue to cool via evaporation when wet.
👉This is why people dry/scrape sweaty horses in the winter- they get cold faster!

Works for me- one less step 🤣

"Although most people seem to agree that water is key in reducing temperature, many still say, incorrectly, that the water must be scraped off – with many often insisting that leaving a horse wet can make it hotter."

An expert in equine thermoregulation is attempting to bust some of the myths spread about cooling horses. Although most people seem to agree that water is key in reducing temperature, many still say, incorrectly, that the water must be scraped off – with many often insisting that leaving a horse w...

When is it too hot to ride your horse? Temperature alone is not a good guide when it comes to deciding if you should ride on a hot summer day. It is the combination of heat and humidity that should be your major concern: https://loom.ly/dGXEeqY

I wanted to take a moment to thank all my clients, it's been a great year! I've so enjoyed being able to see improvements in your animals' comfort and performance this year.

I also wanted to announce I'm going on a short maternity leave!
We are expecting baby Weichel on the 17th, so I expect to be back mid to late February. Feel free to reach out with any questions in the mean time.

I'll have some exciting things to announce in 2022, including rebranding.

Thanks again for allowing me to help your animals!

This is something I've definitely seen improved by chiropractic adjustments! I've even seen improvement after 1 session. These horses not only look better, but they work better for you when they're able to use their bodies appropriately!

The topic this week 👉🏼 Roach Back

I see this every 👏🏼 single 👏🏼 week 👏🏼

It is a HUGE problem in our horses!

I’ll be going into more depth later this week, but to put this in simple terms…roach back happens when there are huge compensations in the body. Lack of motion elsewhere in the spine causes too much motion in the lumbar vertebrae, causing them to have a roached appearance.

It is extremely common, but it is definitely NOT normal, and needs to be addressed ASAP with chiropractic care.

Have you seen this in your horses before?

Hey everyone! Welcome to the page! My phone was down this weekend, so I apologize if anyone was struggling to get ahold of me!

I'm going to start by answering some basic FAQs. Drop any questions you may have in the comments! 👇

What IS veterinary chiropractic?

Veterinary chiropractors look for areas of decreased/abnormal motion in joints in the spine and/or limbs. These areas of restrictions have effects on the nervous system and therefore the whole body.
When the animal is adjusted, a high force, low amplitude force is applied to the joint to restore normal range of motion.

Is being adjusted safe and comfortable for my animal?

When performed by someone with the proper training, yes. If there are contraindications, we will not proceed. Dr. Weichel is certified by the IVCA (international veterinary chiropractic association) and completed extensive coursework through the certified school Options for Animals. Only doctors of veterinary medicine or chiropractic can be certified. An animal may experience a brief moment of discomfort during an adjustment, but shouldn't be painful.
