Heading home from one of my favorite continuing education meetings…the AVCA annual conference!! The American veterinary chiropractic association is one of the main governing bodies for animal chiropractic care in our country, and I feel so grateful to be a member 🙂 one of the most wonderful aspects of my profession is that the learning never ends, and I’m lucky to do it with these wonderful humans who love animals so much❤️

Changing it up a bit with continuing education this year…just finished up an intro to saddle fitting course with the Society of Master Saddlers. The SMS is a UK based organization with a very rigorous training program for both saddle makers and fitters (bridle fitting too!). I have learned so much in the last few days, my head is spinning a bit…(in the best way 😉. I HIGHLY recommend you check them out, especially if you are looking for a trained saddle fitter for your horse.

Did you know that animals display all sorts of behaviors right before they release tension in their bodies? Sometimes it is subtle: a flick of the ear, a blink of the eye, or a slight turn of their head, for example. And sometimes it is quite dramatic: fidgeting, pawing, or trying to leave altogether!
This patient has his own unique release style that his owner and I were getting quite a kick out of 😆
The most important thing is to allow them the time and space to release whenever it comes ❤️
