Part 1- "Its Impossible" said Pride.
"We will be doing surgeries in that room by end of week"...everybody looked at me like I was crazy. I heard one person say the building looks haunted 👻, many people said "I'm here to help- you don't have to pay me", neighbors said "you guys are doing a great thing/we support you, we will check on you."
As our feet, hands, back and legs were aching we finished out our preparation one day before our partners Best Friends Utah Vet Team came in. We spent 8 hours straight moving, cleaning sweeping cutting, disinfecting, tearing down, cutting weeds, etc. All of our team had family who believe in them came out and helped. It was a sight to see. Something we were so blessed and thankful to be apart of.
We knew in our mind our team would stay until the our scary looking "Big Red" was habitable for a pop-up clinic. "BigRed" still looked scary and seen some rough days on the outside but on the inside "BigRed" had turned into a space that could help so many people and their pets. Kinda like our team. At the end of day, as sun was setting we looked at each other gave high fives and fist bumps and reveled in all of our work. We looked at each other, our smiles and exhaustion but we all just kept laughing and joking. If a team don't work this hard "ION want it" We knew we had 5 more days of surgery ahead of us, we felt the 4 days of surgery just before coming into this clinic at Ute/Toawac community helping our great partners RezDawg Rescue, Inc, Dogster's Spay & Neuter Program ("D-SNiP") and C.A.W.L. Today is a special day as we show appreciation to all of our veterinarians for all that they do. A big appreciation to our Diné veterinarian, Dr. Kelly Upshaw. As we continue to grow as a team, Dr. Upshaw has inspired us to take on new challenges in the veterinary field, from small animal to large animal. First couple weeks at our lot/building. The need is so great out there, we are always busy on our exam days, surgery days, etc. Every day we are stepping towards the goal. Thank you to our partners who continue to support us and our clients/patients who are so thankful for our help. Sometimes I think with so little we do so much but it's about team behind Rez-Solutions who strive and excel in all sorts of environments. In the first two weeks we saw 85 animals with only 4 days on our lot.
It's important for community members to see people in their communities making change from ground up to allow them to dream and make it reality. Walk the walk and allow that to talk. We were human tractors but nothing replaces hard work and willingness to have an open mind. Our actions show progress!! Nobody is going to do this for us. We have to be the change we want to see! We've added some ooomp to our wellness exam day. We are introducing F***l Exams to better understand what may be aliment for your dog, cats, sheep, cows, and horses. A fresh sample is needed to run the test.
And for the dog paw-rents, we now offer Tick-borne disease testing from IDEXX 4DX Snap test. A blood draw is needed to do this test.

RezDawg Rescue, Inc Greater Good Charities
February was National Spay Awareness Month. We were so busy that month that it was difficult to post our activities. We went into Many Farms community and assisted with a home visit. Access to Veterinary Care at its finest with our Mobile Unit Brownie! Their home area is an area where canine dumping occurs. A different rescue helped with puppy surrenders but with 10 dogs and more than half of them females they were gonna be faced with multiple litters soon in addition to trying to support with Veterinary care. So what did RezDawg Rescue, Inc and Rez-Solutions and Animal Shelter, Inc do? We put our heads, finances and staff together to make a difference.
10 dogs= 6 spays, 4 neuters
5 Mange treatments
3 TVT TREATMENTS
1 forelimb amputation (the doggy had previous fracture and healed over with a severe limp and joint disease)
TVT is transmissable venereal tumor that is spread by coitus causes severe bleeding and growths of v***a and p***s areas. Only treatment is chemotherapy along with Spay/neuter to help stop coitus. So in a visit we helped with prevent unwanted litters within that group of dogs, prevent mange from becoming worst, dewormed them for zoonotic diseases and vaccinated all dogs, treated for TVT. We ALSO did a forelimb amputation to help make one dog more comfortable with his deformed limb. He got transferred to RezDawg Rescue for medical fostering and is now up for foster and/or adoption.
These types of assistance is pure grassroots directed care. These dogs were pure rez dogs that needed the assistance.

No mud or snow was going to stop us, not this team of magnificence!! And it most definitely did not stop the pet pawrents, they showed up. Even if they got stuck in the snow, they came out.

A consolidation of our December, let us walk you through to our end of year trip.
A few assists to our neighbor McKinley County Humane and RezDawg Rescue, Inc in November.
Let's begin with our 2nd or was it our 3rd trip back to Sanders community, a low-cost Spay&Neuter clinic. Let me see and count back how many pets and pet owners brought in their pets. it is and has been a rewarding experience to spend time with people in on the reservation, to hear their worries and concerns about pet population. We take these moments and always strive to do and be better with each person, each clinic site and each pet. So, thank you to everyone who entrust us with your fur babies.
It feels like all we doing is posting up our flyers but we've been doing some pretty amazing things around the rez, so let's rewind back a few months and play ketchup!

There are many reasons why a dog or cat shake there head, but this could be one of them. Ear mites live in the ear canal and on the surrounding skin. Signs of ear mites in dogs/cats include scratching around the ears, head and neck, skin irritation, head shaking, the presence of an ear discharge or and an unpleasant odor from the ears. Please always take your pet to a clinic for owie's, ouchies and or "just doesn't look rights".
Foxtails travel. The danger of foxtails goes beyond simple irritation. Because these tough seeds don't break down inside the body, an embedded foxtail can lead to serious infection for your dog.
