Tonight’s the night that a lot can happen. While we celebrate our freedom on this Independence Day- please do so respectfully and responsibly. Never shoot off fireworks over someone else’s home/yard or over/near a farm and farm animals.
As for our 4 legged canine friends, here are some suggestions to help them with this evening’s festivities.
1) If you are heading out to enjoy the festivities, please kennel your pet while you are away. A kennel is not a punishment, it is a safe space where your pup can feel secure and decompress.
2) Play games. If your dog goes nuts for fetch, play ball in your fenced back yard during festivities. If you’re worried about them fleeing- put them on a long line so you have influence. 
3) Training time. While the festivities get underway, you can put your pup on leash and practice obedience drills. This will take their mind off the noise and help them learn to focus on you. Reward their focus on you!!
4) Keep them with you…if you have a fence jumper- keep them with you on leash this evening.
5) Kennel time: if you can’t keep them with you and you are busy, put them in the kennel where they feel safe and secure. We recommend putting in a high-value treat such as a good bone that they can enjoy while chillin in the kennel.

MEET YOUR TRAINERS: Angela Kupper ~ Trainer & Owner
Angela is a balanced trainer who has experience in behavior modification, obedience and protection. She has over 20 years experience in training and husbandry with a variety of breeds, mixes and hybrids. On her off time she enjoys working her dogs in protection and rally, hiking, camping and horseback riding.

MEET YOUR TRAINERS: Alexandria Shapiro ~ Trainer & Service Dog Trainer
We are pleased to announce the newest member of our training team: Alexandria Shapiro! Alex is a LIMA based balanced trainer who specializes in Service Dog Training and Medical Alert. With over 10 years experience, Alex brings a wealth of information to team. Alex has trained for non-profit service dog providers and is known for her expertise and kind demeanor. In her spare time she enjoys showing in rally, hiking, events and traveling with her service dog.

Welcome Elliot to our program! This beautiful boy will be learning to walk with a loose leash and to work on a few small behavioral issues. He is a sweet boy who was rescued by his current owners earlier this year. We look forward to sharing his progress 😊

Oreo, our SDIT for several months, went home to his owner in Florida last week. He is adjusting well and living his best life while helping his owner with light balance and mobility work. We look forward to pupdates and to hearing of their adventures together!

Jake is doing well with his dedicated owner. Jake has had some reactivity on leash with other dogs, but he is learning neutrality and proper behavior. I am so proud of this team!
