You may have already seen the news regarding the America COMPETES Act of 2022 (HR4521). This bill was passed in the House of Representatives on February 4 and is headed to the Senate next. It is extremely important for ALL exotic pet owners to familiarize themselves with this legislation.

Just a reminder that Axolotls (and any other aquatic creature) require a fully cycled aquarium to thrive.
Cycling an aquarium from scratch can take 2 months and sometimes longer.
So, if you’re considering buying yourself or someone else an Axolotl for Christmas and haven’t begun the cycling process (Or don’t know what that even means) please reconsider as your tank will not be safe in time and you will find yourself in over your head.

Animals should never be gifted since they all deserve to have a properly planned out and screened adoption.
Aquatic animals can in some ways require more planning because of the time it takes to make their habitat safe.

We’ve had a lot of adoption requests from uneducated Christmas Shoppers lately.
Please understand that we don’t do this to service people, making people happy is just a bonus to our main focus which is the Axolotls and ensuring we find them the best possible homes; even if that means having to explain to some people that they’re not ready for one yet and being belittled for it as if it’s just an opinion.

Christmas is the perfect time to buy the tank, supplies, plushies and care guide booklets. Save the Lotl till you’re fully ready, and you’ll save yourself a lot of stress and frustration!
