Early scent exposure, what is it and why is it important? It helps puppies develop nose awareness and confidence! So far, our puppies have been introduced to cinnamon, orange peel, rosemary, all spice, oregano, and garlic! We look to see if they engage with the scent, avoid it, or have no reaction.

We weigh our puppies right after birth and everyday for 2 weeks. Our lightest was 12.5 oz, and our heaviest was 1 lb 2 oz. After 6 days, 7 of our pups are nearly 2 lbs and the other 3 pups are close on their heels! We weigh everyday to make sure everyone is getting the nutrition they need and growing at the appropriate rate! www.westtexasgoldens.com

I read a great book by Jeanette Forrey, The Ultimate Badass Breeder's Guide. She has developed a puppy development curriculum that is awesome! It has so many great ideas and guides to make sure that puppies are exposed to a variety of sensory experiences to promote their development and well-being. I'm super excited to put this into action with our puppies!!
