Miss Sassafras is happy to announce her Embark genetic health and traits test is on the way!

This is the first test we perform to make sure all is good before we move to OFA's 🤞🤞🤞 she's as amazing as her brother! We do not expect any less 🥰

Sir Hawthorne has a breeding schedule this week with a beautiful Harlequin female! 🤞🤞 it takes! If so pups in a few months!

We are excited for the results so of course we delve deeper down the rabbit hole and found this super informative video about what it is OFA looks for in a Hip evaluation!

Hawthorne had his Cardiac and OFA hips exam yesterday! While we have to wait for results to come back on the Radiographs sent to OFA for eval we were given the all clear on his BCD test!

Good news!!! Hawthorne's results are in!!!

He is clear for both Ichthyosis and Inherited Myopathy and not that it was a question but yep he's 100% great dane 🥰

We will be submitting these along with his OFAs etc when he turns 2! We are one step closer!

Hawthorne also, as we expected carries Black (KB/ky) and Fawn (ay/ay) with mask and will likely throw for Brindles if we pair him right since his sire was a Brindle. He tested negative for the Merle gene so he is not a cryptic Merle and is safe to breed to a spotted female!!!

It's mail day!!! Hawthornes genetic test is here! This is just a bit of extra testing we will be doing on top of his hip heart thyroid and eyes! We can't wait! 2 years weve been watching him grow into an amazing boy!

Sassafras is going into heat now and since she wont be 2 until next month we can expect her next cycle to mean puppies!!! Her health testing should be completed by then so those that are waiting we should have a fully health tested litter on the ground in the next 8-9 months! 🤞🤞

Guess who just had his OFA's, heart, eyes, and thyroid scheduled for the end of April 😍 That's right Hawthorne!

He will pass with flying colors we just know it! We will also be running a full genetic health panel. Once his results are in, he will become available to select Females for Stud Work. Hoping to have a CHIC number ready sometime in May! This will also make us part of the AKC's H.E.A.R.T program 🥰 anything we can do to better the breed!

Sassafras will soon be following him with her testing. We will announce more on her when she is scheduled!

Aspen (a.k.a Haku) is excelling at his service training. His handler tells us his alerts are on point and they couldn't be happier with him! Which means we couldn't be prouder!
