Why is confidence so important in your dog ?⬇️
Helping your dog build confidence is key to them feeling more secure, which then will make them more resilient to stress and improve their behavior towards triggers.
If you do not teach your dog properly how to be confident and maneuver through stress your behavioral training will be a lot less successful.
Reactivity stems from fear and lack of proper guidance through a triggering situation for whatever your dog may be deeming stressful. No reaction sometimes is the best reaction 👏🏼

What’s a healthy relationship between your two pups ? ⬇️
Some think it’s appropriate and a “good” relationship between two dogs to be CONSTANTLY playing. This is false.
A healthy relationship between two dogs yes involved play and proper communication between the two understanding play tactics and roles in the pack, but most lack neutrality, and calmness. If your dogs can “play for hours” you may want to consider crate rotating in small portions or crate decompression for both at certain points to also teach them calmness around each other.
For example:
This is Duffy, and Oona 😍 Oona came in as a wild little puppy, and Duffy is older with a much calmer temperament. Oona was sitting on him, standing over him when he would lay down, and constantly biting his ears and jumping on him. Duffy would often get frustrated but wouldn’t display too much correction he more or so looked “fed up”. Since we have started training and rotating them where Oona learns to decompress away from Duffy she will often now go in another room to nap and leave him alone. 👏🏼

Stanley is a pure bred Weimaraner who is about a year old now. We started training at about 10 months when my amazing client took him in from a family that could not handle his breed energy.
Stanley was extremely anxious and confused on behaviors. He was in dire need of structure, boundaries, and a job to do. He would jump insanely, pace all over the house, and scream in his kennel.
Through consistent training and help from his sister Roo as well Stanley is thriving with his new owner. She finally can start giving him this type of freedom, and truly enjoying every aspect of this breed and her dog in himself. Great job Stanley boy 💙

Let’s talk Muzzles 😃 Muzzles are not pretty looking to most on a dogs face but they serve a purpose ! In this case not only is Cammie dog aggressive and I’m avoiding any bites on my own dog but she has a huge history of redirecting. When her owners would correct her she would turn and bite them in such rage she couldn’t get to the other dog she was fixated on. This happens very often with most of my clients whose dogs have some aggression. Muzzle training involves TRAINING just like anything else. You should have about two weeks of positive interaction with the muzzle before clipping it on your dog. I suggest lining it with peanut butter, holding a treat on the outside and having your dog put the snout through to receive the treat from the inside, and when not working with it leaving it out on the floor from time to time for your dog to sniff and get association with. The worst thing you can do is just buy one clip it on your dog in a high stress situation. It will make things worse, or they will rip off their dew claw most likely. If you feel your dog might redirect or make you nervous with biting in any situation and feel it would be less stressful, and helpful for training with your pet please consider muzzling !
