“This nation will remain the land of the free only so long as it is the home of the brave.”- Virginia Foxx

On this Veterans Day, the thanks of a grateful nation is with all of America’s uniformed servicemembers, past and present, and with their families.

A famous William Harvard quote reads, “The greatest glory of a free-born people is to transmit that freedom to their children.” He is right. And the freedom of which he speaks is only possible because of the brave men and women throughout our history who have answered our country’s call to serve in her defense.

Today is all about those men and women - the ones who have volunteered to give their all, if that is what is asked of them, for our country. And they are supported by families who carry their burden of service with them . Today we honor them and reflect upon the magnitude of what they have given. May we come to give half as much.

It’s a BEAUTIFUL day here in WA state. The sun is shining and the rain stopped. Meet my adorable weekend board and train dog Frankie. She completed a Level 1 group class and is here to sharpen those skills. We are also working on building her confidence around new things (like horses!), no jumping, no mouthing, and adding in some new obedience commands. Good girl Frankie!

This is my daughter (my #1 helper!) about 12 years ago. I love to get everyone in the family involved with training their dog. Children often do much better than their parents because they don’t have any bad habits.

Beautiful day for some off-leash work!

Carlos the 6 month old Golden!

We had so much fun at my drop-in class last night! This is open to any student, and I hold these classes once a month. This class was at a city park. Included in this class, I had two owners take the opportunity to work both of their dogs together on commands. I also had a 4H student preparing for state, other dogs working on building their confidence, and overall controlled socialization. Good dogs!
