Pink has suddenly grown to be the biggest of the puppies at just over 12 pounds at 5 weeks!

5 weeks old already! Green boy sure is handsome

Hopefully I feel better tomorrow so I can get updated puppy pictures! But for now enjoy the little bit of sassy attitude that’s starting to emerge!

The babies are 10 days old now! All the puppies are over 3 pounds, eyes are starting to open and a couple are up and walking around the whelping box. Tally has settled in to motherhood and is very attentive but happy to come out and relax in the evening when the babies are sleeping.
We have 8 week litter evaluations scheduled as well as ear cropping. We are still accepting applications, expecting lots of herding potential. Please reach out for any information.

3 days old!
It’s been a LONG 3 days but the babies are all gaining weight and they are very strong and vocal! A couple are already pulling their legs under them and attempting to walk!

Everyone is settling in and doing really well. Tally is calming down and is doing great with being a first time mother. All puppies weight just over a pound!

Who would have thought we’d have a standard schnauzer puppy here in the house! Not me but this little girl is something else!
She does need a name a couple contenders are:
Fiadh (fee-ah) Gaelic for wild
Arsyn
Maybe

I’m not a huge fan of human names for dogs even though we do have a few that definitely have them.

3rd barnhunt lesson for Crush

This is Crush’s, third lesson and her first lesson with a first time handler! Crush is absolutely amazing with her ability to search out the rats but we learned today that she patterned very quickly and now we can only do multiple rat hides so that she does not think she is finished after finding her first rat. Poor Emily had a heck of a time holding onto Crush in the beginning but thank goodness she had a good time and will be coming back to more lessons to get ready to help handle Crush at the trial in October
