KNPV is the acronym for "Koninklijke Nederlandse Politiehond Vereniging" translated to English as "Royal Dutch Police Dog Association.

Joeri's pedigree and bloodlines were carefully selected from older and newer Dutch and East/West German working lines. They were also selected for the purpose of preserving the older bloodlines along with their outstanding working qualities. Joeri's ancestry and pedigree help to assure that he and his offspring inherit certain genetically determined traits.

Joeri's KNPV training helped to enhance his natural instincts including his mental, physical and behavioral characteristics. He is very intelligent which is evident in many ways, such as his problem solving skills and a strong desire to learn and explore new things.

The KNPV PH1 trials gave Joeri the opportunity to demonstrate his high level of courage, perseverance and drives. The challenges he faced during the trials revealed his impressive strength of mind and level of discipline. Joeri also demonstrated a "Sense of Duty" by obeying or performing required exercises solo, without commands or the presence of his handler, he had to think on his feet as it were.

The above mentioned qualities make Joeri eager to learn and easy to train. This means that he can be depended on when it comes time for him to follow potentially life saving commands.

Physically, he has a nice athletic conformation and is a powerhouse, strong and fast with great reflexes. He also has a great nose and drive for scent work.

KNPV-PH 1 Certified German Shepherds like Joeri are often purchased by the Dutch National Police, Defense and other Government and Security Agencies. They also make great family companions and protectors. They are also highly recognized and regarded internationally and utilized worldwide.

Jaika's pedigree and bloodlines are of the older Czech Pohranicni Straze-Border Patrol and DDR German Democratic Republic working lines. Her intelligence, courage, and resilience are combined with an impressive strength of mind.

While she is still in the Czech Republic Jaika will be bred to Jefy z Jirkova dvora. We're expecting her to arrive here after pregnancy is confirmed in June 2023.

Jefy is an exceptional world class example of the Czech working line German Shepherds.

Between them Jaika and Jefy have earned the following Czech working titles, BH/VT, ZMT, ZZO, T1, ZVV-1, ZVV-3, IGP-3. And the following Advanced Tracking titles, IFH-V, IFH-1, ZPS-1, SPR-1, and FPr-3.

The following is an excerpt from the publication, "An Introduction to the Royal Dutch Police Dog Association (KNPV), 2nd edition by G. Straatman and J. Jons.

"This book is the first book published in English that describes in detail, the Royal Dutch Police Dog certification and examination program.

The KNPV is a nationally sanctioned Dutch working dog certification and competitive training organization that is sponsored by the Royal Dutch family. The KNPV governs and administers the examination of the National Police Dog certification programs and examination processes, promotes the training of dogs for modern utility purposes like police work, tracking, search and rescue and guard work. They also promote the breeding of dogs suitable for modern utility work and the education of civilians and police officers to become good dog trainers.

The KNPV certified police dogs are raised and trained primarily by Dutch civilians. It takes over 2 years to create a dog that can pass the KNPV Police Dog 1 (PH1) certification exam. The examination includes obedience, swimming, searching for lost articles and persons, performing canine protection work that apprehends, guards, transports and controls a criminal suspect and protects his handler. The KNPV dog trainers and their dogs and training clubs view the certification examination process as a competitive challenge, to pass the exam with the highest possible score, that will enable them to compete in the National Police Dog Championship competition. After certifying a dog, the KNPV trainer may sell his dog to the Dutch Police, Security or Military organizations. The trainer then acquires a puppy and again begins the process of competitively training another KNPV Police Dog.

Due to the proven success, objective and credibility of the KNPV program these KNPV certified Police Dogs are being exported from Holland to meet the needs of Police, Security and Military agencies worldwide.

The dog breeds mostly used in KNPV are Belgian Malinois, Dutch Shepherds and German Shepherds."

Joeri van de Hornhutte KNPV-PH 1 "met lof." Joeri received his KNPV-Royal Dutch Police Dog Association Ph 1 (Politiehond-Police Dog) certification in May, 2022 while in the Neteherlands. He arrived to his new home with us In June, 2022. He is one of only 2 German Shepherds to receive the KNPV PH1 met lof certification in 2022. Joeri is highly intelligent, courageous and resilient. He possess an impressive strength of mind that gives him a clear head and stable temperament. Physically he is a powerhouse, fast, strong and agile.
