POTENTIAL OWNER: How much is the puppy?
BREEDER: $4,000
POTENTIAL OWNER: What?? It's way too expensive!!
BREEDER: What do you think would be a good price?
POTENTIAL OWNER: No more than $500. You breeders are so over priced.
BREEDER: I am sorry you see it this way, why don't you try it yourself?
POTENTIAL OWNER: But I've never done it!
BREEDER: For FREE I can teach you how to do it, and in addition you will have the knowledge to do it again.
POTENTIAL OWNER: Perfect, thank you!
BREEDER: To start you will need a female(average cost $4,000 and up). Also a male(average cost $4,000 and up) or semen (average $3,000 and up). You will need to do genetic & health testing on them, averages about $1,500 per dog. Raise and provide daily care, feeding & grooming for 2 years at an average of $600 per month each)
POTENTIAL OWNER: But I don't have that much money...

BREEDER: For $500 you can raise a litter for me and then keep one of the puppies. Obviously, you also have to pay the cost of whelping & care.
POTENTIAL OWNER: I can do that.
BREEDER: OK so I have a female due to whelp in 2 weeks. You will need to be available 24/7 around the clock for at least 8 weeks to help with delivery and care. Possibly tube or bottle feed puppies every 2-3 hours if the mom is low on milk the first couple weeks.
POTENTIAL OWNER: Eight weeks?? it's way too much time for me! I have to work.
BREEDER: You will also need the reproductive vet to do xrays($200-$500), ultrasound $250, possibly reverse progesterone testing($75-$250) & a C-section($1000-$5000) and initial vet care on pups until old enough to be placed. Pups vets exams and two sets of vaccines ($250 each assuming all puppies are healthy).
Have on hand a scale, thermometer, latex gloves, sanitizer, absorbent tissues, scissors, hemostats, heating pad, whelping box, blankets, cleaning supplies, appropriate food with supplements for mothers, formula, medications & hand feeding supplies in case of emergency....
POTENTIAL OWNER: But I don't have all these things!
BREEDER: For $4000 you can buy them.
POTENTIAL OWNER: Ummm .... You know, I think it might be better if I just buy a puppy.
BREEDER: Wise decision.

For us breeders there are no vacations or holidays, while you go to visit with family & friends we are home at our dogs side caring for them. It is a no breaks commitment.

THIS IS THE REALITY of a GOOD BREEDER!!

When you choose a professional, you don't only pay for the puppy but also: Tools, knowledge, experience, love, time, sacrifices, etc.

A chance meeting occurred in California among cousins today. The fact that they all live nearby, facilitating attendance at the meetup, is noteworthy. Louie and Ella crossed paths with Atom in the park. We feel deeply proud and honored to have bred these distinguished Sunkissed Beagles.

Such a fun weekend with lots of laughs with good friends! Always great to hang with some of our Beagle besties.

First time out at the big shows after a couple 4-6 BPUP shows and our kids didn’t disappoint. Each of them got better everyday so ribbons were just icing on the cake!!

Jessica Brigante thank you for not letting Nick groom the puppies and making sure they were read to shine for their debut.

In 13’s, Sunkissed and Barristers Shake Shake Shake Senora, Lydia, went Reserve a couple times and enjoyed the show life a little more everyday.

In 15’s, Sunkissed and Barristers Some Like It Ruff, Mr. Grey, went Reserve to the major twice. We’re really excited about this boys future as he seems to have all the parts, now we wait for our goofy boy to come together.

Sunkissed and Barristers Eat the Corners First, Brownie, showed really great for it being her first time in any ring and also took home a Reserve one day this weekend.

And finally Sunkissed and Barristers She’ll Make Your Head Spin, Reagan, who went Winners and Best of Winners on Sunday and picked up her first major.

We want to thank Jessica for allowing us to use GCH Royal-Tea’s Antonio Banderas “Tony” and Chanel for letting us use GCH Glade Mill L’Attente “Victor” to produce these lovely puppies.

Lydia and Mr Grey are out of Tony and Brownie and Reagan are out of Victor.

We're overjoyed with Sunkissed and Barristers She Makes Your Head Spin “Reagan”, who consistently exceeds expectations! Official win picture from Mobile Kennel Club Dog Show where she was awarded Best of Winners, judged by Debra Thornton. We're grateful for the recognition of our extraordinary girl among a talented lineup of beagles.

Well, we had the Best of the Best day today in Ocala.

In only her 2nd weekend out in the 4-6 puppy, Sunkissed and Barristers She’ll Make Your Head Spin, Reagan, won the Variety both days entered, won a group 2 yesterday and a Group 1 today. She followed that up by going Best Puppy in Show. Thank you judge Janice Reilly for finding our girl among all the amazing puppies.

And to top off that amazing news, this club had a Best in Cluster for the puppies and she won that also!!! Thank you to Robert Robinson for the Best in Cluster honor as well.

We want to thank our Co Owners and mentors Dennis Dollar and Betsy Manifold for guiding us through, helping our amazing start and just being wonderful friends.

We want to Thank Chanel LeFever for allowing us to use Victor we are already seeing an indelible mark on our program.

Jessica Brigante for not letting Nick groom this beautiful girl and messing her up!!!

And Christian B for showing her and jumping and doing an amazing job, especially since it was his first time touching a Beagle!! And the 2 of them got better every time in the ring.
