This is from a private lesson with Raven and her owner Jessica Caraveo we were working on the 4 intentions of pressure. As you can see by the end of the session Raven understood that just because the flag was moving, it did not mean ahead needed to go faster or respond to it at all. She’s a quick study!

We will be holding our event starting at noon today! Please dress accordingly, we will be adding horse sledding to our event so snow pants and boots are encouraged!

There is a green street sign that says "Promenade Ln" at the end of the driveway, turn in follow the road, we will have someone out selling tickets and directing where to park from there.

Thanks to everyone who participated in the Thanksgiving camps. We had a few new people, continuing people and accomplished some goals in the 3 days of camp. Wish I had photos but I get so busy teaching I forget!

Here is our schedule of camps for Thanksgiving week. Camps are Monday thru Wednesday.
Beginner camp: Learning basics of riding preparation, how to communicate with the horse on the ground to be safe and be a leader for your horse, basic riding skills. No experience needed.
Lateral/Canter Camp: Learning/refining leg yields, turn on the haunches and turn on the fore, haunches in, and how to incorporate for better canter departures. If you are struggling with cantering or a spooky horse lateral work is a game changer! Must be able to trot horse by yourself.
Medieval Games: Learn various games on horseback. Not sure why holding a spear at a pumpkin is so much fun, but it is a blast! Turn you horse into a war steed! This is great for building confidence in your horse. Must be able to trot horse by yourself.

Ride with Confidence! These riders all started in our beginner programs, including camps. Thanksgiving Camp will be held November 21, 22, 23 from 9 to noon. We have camps for beginner and advanced riders. Beginners start with basics and safety. Advanced students will work on lateral and cantering. Mounted Medieval games will be in the afternoon from 1 to 3 pm.

Putting Humans and Horses Together
Promenade Horsemanship Academy and Stables is all about horse and human working in partnership. We strive to create a healthy environment and training techniques that make our horses usable long into their late 20’s. Our oldest horse Gus, is 34 and still doing light work. Natural horsemanship training philosophy is combined with classical training methods so the horse learns to use its mind in a thinking, learning manner and its body properly to stay in balance. This creates a calm minded, confident horse that is safer to ride and work. Body biomechanics of both human and horse are important to keep all healthy.
