Twelve years ago, a puppy named Ollie choked on a broken piece of a chew toy on a Sunday morning at 6am. We rushed him to the vet where they plucked that piece of chew toy out of his throat that had lodged itself in his throat sideways. The vet saved him and that event cascaded into the invention of the Indestructibone chew toy. We owe Ollie everything. Ollie is the reason the Indestructibone chew toy and our business Bulletproof Pet Products started. He was a beautiful dog that was sensitive, loving and smart. When he was younger he loved swimming in the river to fetch a stick and would play for hours fetching. He was our model, our toy tester, and became part of our soul. Every morning he would walk up to me and lay his head on my lap and say hi and I would pet him and tell him good morning. We nursed him through cancer and bad arthritis. He was the happiest dog. Everyone who met him loved him.

Tuesday, he was struggling to breathe and we rushed him to that same emergency vet that saved his life 12 years ago. Only this time, they couldn’t save him. They said it was tracheal paralysis. His throat was closing up and his tongue was blue.He was suffocating. There wasn’t much time.. We had to make a very difficult decision so quickly. We told him we loved him and he was wagging his tail till the end. I know he didn’t want to go and I didn’t want to let him go, but he was suffering so much. My heart hurts.
