Training cost policy clarification:
A single in (your) home session is $125 unless there are extended travel circumstances. To which I am always happy to consider.
A package of 5 sessions is $500, that cost is to be paid at the first meeting and is considered the first train out of the 5 total. Once a package is purchased, it is non-refundable.
If I come to your home for a first session and we decide your family would benefit from a Board & Train, I will waive the first session cost of $125 and put the total of $500 (non refundable) to hold the spot. Times can be changed if needed and the deposit can be moved, but can NOT be refunded.
All in home sessions last between 45 minutes - 2 hours (if I talk a lot about your dog & training which I tend to do).
I customize every training program for that dog and that family to make training as easy to incorporate into your everyday life as possible. If we are working on behavioral modification, the training can definitely be more intense.
I am a balanced trainer - I use ecollars. No, I would absolutely NEVER “shock” or hurt a dog. I haven’t in 20 years and would not be successful at all if I did. When used properly, they are a very effective form of communication, BUT YOU MUST USE THEM PROPERLY!! Do I use an ecollar on every dog in every situation? Absolutely not, all of my training is reward based first and foremost and I have a HUGE set of tools in my arsenal that are sometimes much better options.
I’m sorry I had to make this post, I didn’t want to. But some potential clients/clients have had questions lately and this will most directly clear everything up.
As always, THANK YOU, so much for your support of SK Dog Training! I appreciate it more then I can express and look forward to teaching many dogs to be well mannered through forming a bond with their humans built on trust and respect in the future. 🧡 Any questions, I’m always available. Thank you, again

George & I are running into the week head on!
I am a balanced trainer that works with reward based training. What does that mean? I use several different tools when I work with families and their pups and all training is filled with reward. For some dogs, I use e-collars as they are the only tool that can successfully keep your line of communication open with your dog off leash. Does that mean that your dog will have to be on an e-collar for the rest of its life? Absolutely not. Georgie was trained, by me, on an e-collar using praise based reward to build our bond. But he has been off the collar for years now and I trust him with my life! The key is to be consistent, that’s it. Dog training doesn’t have to be complicated. Ever. 🧡 Have an awesome week everyone! #bondtrustrespect
We are having a blast over here this holiday season! All of the pups eat in their crates, have 20-40 minutes of rest time, then are back out & about. I can’t tell you how grateful I am to have some of my favorite dogs here to ring in the new year with! #bondtrustrespect
Managing as many dogs as I do is a huge balancing act and I,100%, have let my guard down at times and mistakes have been made. I don’t think the family made any mistake other then trusting their dog too much which 99% of humans do. I feel for the family, it really could have happened to anyone who has a powerful working breed dog & child. It is sad to me that it is not as acceptable to talk about BEFORE it happens so that things can be prevented. 🙏🧡 (please don’t mind my swollen face 😂)
Mr. Zeus came to me 3 weeks ago a slight hot mess!
He was adopted from a humane society and his family have 1 kitty in their pack. Well, Zeus is cat reactive. He has very similar reactivity towards cats as Kody. He loves them too much!!! So we have been working on that and the commands of Sit, Wait, Quiet, Crate, Place, Off, Leave It & an Off leash recall that is *chefs kiss*. He socializes well & appropriately with other dogs & humans politely!
He’s such a good, young, strong, inquisitive dog and I am so excited for his family to have him home so he can have the best life ever. He deserves all of it! 🧡#bondtrustrespect #wediditzeus
This is just a friendly reminder that not all tail wagging means a dog is happy!!
In this video, Kody is trying to play with George and, as you can see, both tails are up & wagging most of the time. BUT there is a big difference in energy between the two dogs! Kody is in full “I want to play play PLAY” mode. He wants to have fun with George and his energy is happy. George is in “STOP MOVING SO F*ING FAST YOU ANNOYING CHILD” mode, but his tail is mostly wagging. The reason a dog fight didn’t start in this situation is because Kody is zero threat to George he is just like an annoying little fly. So be careful to watch all parts of your dogs body language, not just a wagging tail 🙂🧡🐶 #bondtrustrespect
