On November 10th we did the hardest thing pet owners have to do. We said goodbye to Boomer. He battled with a brain tumor a little over a month before he found peace. The last few months have been full of tears and sadness as well as love and appreciation. If you had the pleasure of meeting him you knew Boomer was full of nothing but love and happiness. Even as he struggled to walk and move in the end he never lost control of his happy tail. He is missed everyday and I am so thankful he was part of my life.

Layla come to stay with me for a few days in June when her humans got married. This girl is always a fun time!! She tried climbing trees as a new hobby but she definitely needs more practice. 😜I just love her!! ❤️ 🐕

Boomer and Maisie enjoyed a nice walk after meeting each other last week. If your dog gets super excited when they see another dog out on walks, proper dog introductions will help communicate to your dog that over excited behavior will not let them meet the dog. Instead, relaxed but interested behavior is what we want when introducing dogs to each other.

Meet Tesla! 👋 This gorgeous gal has a history of anxious behavior in and out of the house. The place command encourages her to relax, even if she doesn’t want to, and adds structure to her routine. 🐶

Meet Zeek and Cocoa. Their owners reached out because every time the dogs were outside together they would bark incessantly at the neighbors’ dogs. We have been working on building focus, reinforcing through play and treats and putting in boundaries and rules. When we took them both outside they completely ignored the neighbor dogs. Not one single bark out of either of them. These dogs and people are doing the work and it’s paying off!

We just returned from a week out of town. I am so thankful for my dear friend who watched the dogs while we were away. It is such peace of mind knowing they are well taken care of and we get regular updates and adorable pictures. Reliable dog watchers are worth their weight in gold around here!!!

😍😍😍 WARNING ⚠️ Cuteness overload!!!!! Last month I had the absolute pleasure of getting to know Lazslo and Sassy, puppy siblings that were about 4 months old. They both did amazing in an unfamiliar place, learned so much and enjoyed a few outings. Man, I had fun with these pups!

Beau and Roo are adorably fluffy!! They struggle when new people come into their home, making lots of noise. Their owner is learning how to be the support system they need; letting them know that she has things covered and they don’t need to worry about it! These two have made awesome progress. I couldn’t be more proud of this pack!

Jaxxon and Dax both had their final training session, together! When training started, Dax’s owners wanted him to be able to coexist with their daughter’s dog. But Dax hasn’t always felt great being around other dogs. These owners took the introduction slow with quite a few restrictions so both dogs knew their owners had it covered. It didn’t take long at all for these guys to become best friends. So glad these two get along so well!

I truly have the best clients! This short message represents HUGE progress! 🤩 This family has been working hard with their working breed dog to be okay when they have people over. Her instincts to herd coupled with anxiety made it challenging to enjoy time with their guests. These working breeds are so smart and if we don’t give them a job to do, they’ll give them selves one. This picture doesn’t look like much but by asking her to go to her bed and lay down her owners gave her a job so her behavior wasn’t left up to her own devices!! 😍

Day training with Layla!! 🐶 Layla has a difficult time keeping her cool when she sees another dog. Her usual behavior of lunging, barking, and whining with the occasional howl left her owners concerned. 😬 Like many dogs Layla likes to play and meet other dogs which left her very frustrated, resulting in the less than ideal behavior. As the day went on Layla was able to keep her cool while getting closer and closer to another dog. 😎 They even got a little bit of play time in! She is a pretty rough and tumble type of gal. Which is why it’s important to take introductions slowly and make sure the dogs have similar play styles and energy. She amazed me at how fast she moved through this process. After all, girls just want to have fun! 🐕

Looked through old videos and found some with a dog we fostered for a short while. She was such a loving and spunky gal!

It was a great day for a walk! Skye and Boomer enjoyed a leisurely walk with each other. Before training Skye was scared to death of the drains in the streets. 😬 she would pancake and do anything she could to avoid walking near them. As you can tell Skye is now more interested than scared! 🙌🏼 her people say she is often curious wanting to sniff and get closer to them! 👍🏼 way to go Skye!!!
